    People Finder (Space 3 + Life 2)
    Action: Instant
    Duration: Prolonged
    Aspect: Vulgar
    Cost: 1 Mana

Combining the purposes of Sense Life with Finder, the mage can track a specific person through Space, knowing what direction that person is, and how far away they are. This allows the mage to track their quarry sympathetically.

    Practices:
Ruling, but as it is being cast sympathetically and with a prolonged duration, it requires a Disciple to cast, with a conjunction of Life.

    Hmm...

You know, technically that concept is replicated under Sense Life already.

"The spell enables a mage to get a good sense of where those living patterns are in relation to him. By adding a Space 1 component to the spell he can get an exact bearing on the detected life forms."

(Mage 1st Edition Core: p181. Emphasis mine)

As far as I can see, that makes a fairly good approximation of Finder. If the spell was cast sympathetically, the parameters would be narrowly defined enough to detect individuals.

Flawless or porcelain skin, a small tail, wings whom sometimes seems to be there and sometimes not, sometimes complete other times with perfect holes in them. Clothing that seems to be made from a metallic form of wood gazes over her body just precisely hiding the areas that needs hiding and enhancing her beauty and allure.
Her head crowned with small horns that seemingly grows out of a tiara made by the same type of fashion. Long enchanting hair that seems to be woven and spun like gold that only could exist in a fairy tale and moving to always be in the exact right spot.
Ornamental feathers clinging to her hair and clothing just behind her back, long ears adorned with earrings and markings.
Eyes that seems to sexually devour anyone whom she gazes upon even if she doesn't even try.
Her combination of being a succubus romancer makes to many details of her appearances hard to pin down but

I have a life spell that I wonder if it is ok.

1: a rather simple spell to just remove color from yours or someone else's hair only the current hair and not hair that will grow out (basically making it white/silver and very easy to color.) Naturally with a lasting effect otherwise so would it be pointless.

That would most likely fall under the purview of: -

    Two Faces (Life 3).

Mage 1st ed core, p188. The spell would only effect the caster. However, for it to last any length of time would require ritual casting; it would be like a monthly Shield spell, but only even more taxing to accomplish because of the higher level of the spell.

Okay, so I am trying to do an effect that is sort of like a Cone of Silence. An area effect that doesn't allow sound to travel out of it. There is a similar effect in Influence Sound, but I don't know if it's just your speech or the speaking around you as well... I could see a potential higher Mastery version that would allow you to effect an area with the effect, or combine it with Space to do the same. Or would that already be capable with the base spell and I am just misreading/overthinking?

I`ve a question about Library of Time. Said spell obviously halves the research time on eachr research roll per success.
So I wanted to ask, whether (perhaps at the higher arcane knowledge of 3 dots and being Vulgar) whether it could be possible to create a version of said spell, where potency does not affect the number of research rolls, but increasingly speeds up the time to do a single research roll. Like, say, 1 suxx, the roll takes 15 mins, 2 it takes 7,5 mins, 3 it takes 3.75 minutes... etc?

You can achieve this kind of effect using the temporal pocket (time 4)/faerie glade (time 5) spell to step out of mainstream time, and use library of time to do an insane amount of research really quickly.

With temporal pocket you would need to make sure you have the books notes, articles, webpages etc with you when you step out but yeah it can be done.

Here is an issue: Self-Repairing machine is lasting. You can't dispel it, you can't stop it. You give an object the property of self-repair and it self repairs forever, "Even if it is utterly destroyed".
But what if you want, for whatever reason, to remove this property? It is a making spell, so I think an un-making spell should work to cancel it. Thus, here is my CT suggestion:

    Stop the Machine:
You remove self-repairing and regenerative properties of one non-living object and make it harder to magically repair, by giving it a property that is antithetical to magic attempts to repair.

    Practice: Unmaking
    Action: Instant
    Duration: Lasting
    Aspect: Vulgar
    Cost: None

Each success of Stop the Machine negates one structure point recovered by Self-Repairing Machine or similar powers per 15 minutes. For objects or mechanical creatures repaired by other supernatural abilities, this spell reduces the potency of the repair by an amount equal to the potency of Stop the Machine.
For example, if a mage uses Repair Object or Reassembly to restore structure to a target, the target regains structure (or size for Reassembly) equal to the Repair Object successes minus the Stop the Machine successes. If a spirit's power or other supernatural effect would restore structure to the target, the successes of such powers would be equally penalized.

This spell does not penalize mundane attempts to repair a broken object. The mage may have a much harder time to magically repair a car thus treated, but a car mechanic possibly could.

Guardians of the Veil Rote: Dust to Dust
Dice Pool: Resolve + Crafts + Matter
Sometimes, when you destroy something and you want to make sure it remains destroyed. Casting this spell with significant potency before destroying something, ensures the object destroyed won't simply be put back together.

This spell has not be approved for play
I will totally find something cool to put here - eventually.

    1. What level or arcana did you think this spell needed?

    2. The duration is lasting so it would be lasting not per 15 minutes as you put in the spell description-- this feels more like you just want a suspend button for a lasting effect -- the easy solution is just be careful what you make self repairing.

    3. Repair object or reassembly are undone just by damaging the object and are lasting so their is no potency to compare --- it simply gives a property so this would not work as you have described -- and this spell serves no function not already covered by the various spells that can damage or reshape objects in regard to repair object or reassembly the results of both of which can be damaged again.
