The Hispanic Lord is shocked to hear someone speak to him in Spanish, and a proper version no less. However it is the hint of the ceceo (lisp) that makes Ricardo think "Spaniard." He turns to face Dillon. "Buenos tardes Jefe Connery. No sabe que hablas Español." (Good evening, Leader Connery. I did not know that you spoke Spanish.) In contrast to Dillon, Ricardo's speech is obviously Mexican, and of the northern variety.

In response to his question, Ricardo continues, "Rodriguez es correcto. Pero unos personas equivocadamente dijeron Reyes." (Rodriguez is correct. But some people mistakenly said Reyes.) He was glad that Dillon knew his correct last name. The Lord takes the Savage's hand and shakes it firmly, to show he respects the man.

Dillon returns the firm gentleman's shake and adds a genuine grin. Both in approval, and glad that he'd made an acceptable first impression. "Un idioma hermoso, enseñado por una señora hermoso, mi Madre del La Sangre." His term for 'Sire' might come across as strange, but it was the one Adonia had taught him. Then again, she was a centuries-old gypsy, so Dillon wouldn't be surprised if it was a tad outdated. However, he used it with pride.

The Gangrel nods as they release hands. "¿Cómo está usted, estos noches, Señor Rodriguez?"

"Eso es muy cierto sobre la lengua. No tengo suficientes oportunidades para hablar mi lengua materna." (You are absolutely correct about the language. I don't get enough opportunities to speak my mother tongue.) Knowing how Mexican were about their mothers, Ricardo wondered if Dillon was like that about his Sire. Since he used the old and formal way for saying it, the Lord assumed so. He continued quickly "Aunque nunca he visto, yo apuesto a que ella es una Madre de su Sangre muy bella." (Although I have never seen her, I would bet she is a very beautiful Mother of your Blood.)

"Soy bien, y usted Señor Connelly? Me alegro de que estés aquí con nosotros esta noche." (I am doing well and you Mr. Connelly?) The implication is that he is glad the other man didn't burn. "Ojalá que su investigación sobre los Novias va bien." (Literally: I hope to God that your investigation into the Brides is going well. Figuratively: I really hope that...) Ricardo was a little regretful that he was pulled away from that investigation.

"Muy bella, si. Y gracias." Dillon nods, speaking jovially. "Si Señora Adonia Mercedes Cabeza de Vaca nunca visitas Sacramento, te voy a presentar." When Adonia's full name comes out, it rolls out fast, as though it's Dillon's own. If the rest of his Spanish was that good, one might not believe he was even American. Not that he was name-dropping, or trying to appear important, mind. The Gangrel simply reckons the Mexican Lord can appreciate a proud heritage, even (maybe especially) a Vampiric one.

"Sigo andando." Dillon says slyly, being reminded of the danger Ricardo had warned them of in Nao's stead that night. "Señora..." he shrugs before taking an educated stab at the right word, "Diputado Brown está a cargo de la investigación sobre los Novias, ahora. Confío en que prevaleceremos." Yeah, that sounded about right.

"¿Ha visto señorita Zhong, recientemente? Es ella bien?" Since the... event that night, Dillon had seen hide nor hair of the jumpy little Mekhet.

The Mexican Lord nods respectfully at Dillon's comments about his Sire. Ricard then continues by reciting his own lineage. "Mi padre era un Padre Luis Ortega, sacerdote de la santificada, a su vez, su Madre era Quadros Beatriz Roca, un difunto Moctezuma mortal sí mismo, que fue engendrado por Vinicio Peralta de Mosquera un Conquistador." ("My Father was a Father Luis Ortega, Priest of the Sanctified; in turn his Madre was Beatriz Quadros Roca, a mortal decedent Moctezuma himself; she was sired by Vinicio Peralta de Mosquera a Conquistador.)

Ricardo tried not to laugh, but a small snicker managed to sneak it's way out. "Ayudante or deputada. Creo que Deputada Brown es una mujer."(Deputy [Sheriff's] or Deputy [Government]. I believe that Deputy Brown is a woman.) He responds jokingly with a look in her direction. Deputy Brown's revealing dress and lack of a bra left little doubt in the Mexican Lord's mind that she was female. Ricardo thought that she must have a very easy time attracting food and lovers.

After a pause, Ricardo states, "Señorita Zhong ya no está asociado con nosotros. La última vez que la vi, ella me dijo que era irse a vivir con el señor Madero." (Ms. Zhong is no longer associated with us. The last time I saw her, she told me she was moving in with Mr Wood.) He didn't really want to say Chris' name out loud, especially in a foreign language.

Turning back to Ricardo from the marvelous display that was Twist in action, Dillon gives the short recital of lineage his utmost respect and attention. His eyebrows raise appreciatively at the mention of the Sanctified Priest. "¿Padre Luis Ortega desde la Parroquia de Mexicali? Mi Sacerdote Padre Hernandez le mencionó un par de veces. Él es un Lord que lleva una pequeña parroquia en el oeste de Baja. He viajado desde allí, recientemente."

Where Mister Rodriguez is polite to only snicker slightly at the Gangrel using the masculine form of Deputy, Dillon laughs a short single note, very like a bark, but not loud enough to offend. He was perfectly alright with laughing at himself. "¡Deputada! Deputada, si." There is an amused nod and and absentminded scratch of his ear. "La encantadora señora Brown no deja duda..." The sentence trails off quietly, as Dillon stops short of something. Either before saying something inappropriate, or just unsure of the correct word, again. The meaning is pretty clear, however.

At the answer of Nao's whereabouts, Dillon frowns. "Lamento escuchar que. Me pregunto si la señorita Zhong puede tolerar la inmortalidad." It is a reluctant musing, and the Gangrel will never know how much of a clairvoyant he just was.

"Yo creo que Ortega sacerdote mencionado Padre Hernández también. ¿Qué piensa usted de mi pueblo? Debemos hablar de ello en algún momento." (I believe that Priest Ortega mentioned Padre Hernandez as well. What did you think of my pueblo? We should talk about it sometime.) As much as he wanted to continue to talk in Spanish, something had come up. It seemed someone wanted to speak with Dillon.

Ricardo knew what Dillon meant. If they kept talking about Deputy Brown, he might start looking at her... in a way that was either inappropriate or exactly what she wanted. That made him content to let the subject slide.

Right as Dillon began talking about Nao, Chris made eye contact with Ricardo. The Mexican Lord didn't really want to have that conversation, but he didn't have a choice. "?Podríamos continuar esta conversación más tarde? Parece que algunas personas quieren hablar con nosotros." (Could we continue this conversation later? It seems that some people want to talk to us.) The sense of regret was obvious in the Lord's voice. He always enjoyed a good conversation in Spanish and it seemed he and Dillon had lived in nearby domains before.

"Si, Por supuesto que sí." Dillon nods his bid of farewell to Ricardo, obviously glad to have a reason for future conversations. "Estoy deseoso de que. Tener una buena noche, Señor Rodriguez."
