(1109) Coronation of Autumn

Frowns at the sight of so many people joining the group that consists of the former King of Summer and most of the important members of the Freehold, high ranking members of certain Courts. She just watches, which is something most of the Changelings are doing as well. Tally is strongly reminded about her time in the other world and how former alphas were usually chased off by the pack, often led by the new alpha.

More things change, the more they stay the same. The HunterHeart thinks as she nods to herself, although it's debatable if the others even realize what they are doing on a conscious level. None of them had stood up for Rust when he stormed out and without anyone siding with him, Rust getting exiled was bound to happen. Everyone loves a winner, none loves a loser.

Seeing Rick's look, Marcus excuses himself and gets a glass of white wine from the bar before walking over to join the conversation. Unfortunately, he doesn't quite make it across the room before Swilla's outburst and the Autumn King's subsequent departure. Awkward. As the metalflesh takes a step to follow his fellow elemental and join the growing crowd around the lion and the crocodile, he sees his Court's new Constable already on the scene. He hesitates for a fraction of a second as he ponders what to do.

Leave it to Rust to cause a scene... again. Sod it.

Walking up to Abigail, Marcus smiles at the fairest and gives her a friendly nod as he offers her the glass of pinot grigio.

"Alright, Abigail? Don't worry, I'm sure they'll have the situation well in hand soon enough. It's sort of a Seasonal tradition, as it were. Er, so I haven't seen you since the church. How have things been?"

"What have you been up too my lady?" Yui sips his drink and watchews his Queen bring peace to the commotion.

"All is well with you I hope."

Marcus excuses himself from the firepit with a chuckle as Duncan continues to tempt Mrs. Rosemary's wrath. He nods to the wizened with the bloody hands who is chatting with the barman before ordering a glass of pinot grigio. Steeling himself, the metalflesh starts to walk across the room toward Rick and Abigail but halts when chaos erupts around Rust Mane and Big Swilla. Rolling his eyes, Marcus takes a step to follow the Autumn King toward the crowd gathering around the commotion involving the former Summer King, but sees his Court's new Constable already on the scene. He hesitates for a fraction of a second before turning his feet back toward his original destination.

Marcus joins this conversation.

Jack smiles back at the elemental, but does raise an eyebrow when the tough-looking man orders a pinot grigio from Ensorcelled Sam.

Didn't see that coming.

After he hears someone yelling, the Spring Armiger turns around to see what's going on... this time. Shaking his head, the old soldier asks Sam to top off his bourbon before making his way over to gawk spectate observe with the rest of the freeholders. As he looks around, his queen's absence doesn't escape his notice. However, once he finds a good spot, the good doctor catches Juno's eye and gives her a look that says it all.

Sam never could figure out what Neil was thinking, so he assumed it was always bad. But then Katrin walks in, which didn't really relieve his paranoia at all (maybe Alice was beat and bloody out in the parking lot?). Al lets slip some kinda secret business at the ol' Orchestra, and before Sam could find out more, another fight was about to break out. He wanders over with the others.

Sam walks over to the hubbub, interested in the accusations of Loyalism tossed Swilla's way, but keeping toward the back so no one could say he was lookin' for a piece of revenging against ol' Alligator-Mouth. But Nightfall would know better. What use was revenge against other Lost? No, someone did deserve it...and Barkley kept vigilant against the Tiger while the argument was sorted.

But it did feel like old times here, Neil & him, Swilla and a group of Summers, only Alice was still missing...hope it don't get too much like old times, Sam had taken enough bullets to his wooden frame to last him a while. And it looked like Rust was backing down in any case. Without the facts, Sam didn't know that he should be. The old Rust would have bullied right back, and Barkley liked the lion better than the pussycat. And why shouldn't there be a fight in the middle of the Seasons? Wouldn't be a proper Coronation without one, Barkley thought in acceptance of the fact that Entropy had been knocking at the Freehold's door for a long time now. Maybe they ought to invite it in and offer it a drink, before it breaks the damn door down.

"Who woulda thought the greatest danger once we escaped were us and not Them, eh?" he asks of no one in particular, and has a drink, for philosophy summons a terrible thirst.

Stripes heaves out a sigh, the agitation in the room seemed to die down. He nodded to Felena, indicating her to lead the way and glad that (at least for once) the social f aux-pax of the evening hadn't been his fault.

With no further outbursts, the tiger moved on to join Felena and Terri's conversation.

The sudden outburst had startled Stripes from answering, but thanks to Felena's restraining hand the hunterheart had managed to keep composure. With the threat of imminent violence apparently gone, he turned his attention back to the squirrel he was supposed to be talking too.

"That was close, almost had quite a..." Stripes cut himself off, remembering that he had been asked something by Terri. "Uh, sorry. You asked what I though of the freehold didn't you?"

Stripes struggled to resist the urge to ramble about the curious areas he'd found near his hollow and in the city itself, trying to keep his answer succinct and polite.

"It certainly is exciting." He managed to come up with, unable to resist glancing back over his shoulder at where the argument had started.
