Approaching the Reeve casually Castor bows, they were getting easier to do. "Reeve Heinz, my name is Castor Drake. I am new to Sacramento and Herald Villiers suggested I speak with you this evening. If you are free of course."
*Max gives a nod to the new Kindred as he approaches.* Good evening, Mr Drake. How may I be of assistance?
"I am sure that every newcomer in the city approaches you asking for ways to serve the Domain. I am no exception. My military and law enforcement career provides me a small advantage over the less trained. If you ever need additional support on an assignment, I'd like you to know that I am always willing to serve the Alder Prince and his officers." Castor does his best to sound formal and serious. He didn't wish to seem insincere to the Reeve.

*It's with great force of will that the Reeve manages to keep the surprise from his face. Most newcomers to the city tended to hide themselves from the established Kindred; that this man was eagerly volunteering was like a gift from the gods. Of course, Loki was a god too...* Really? Most... interesting, Mr Drake. Walk with me?
*Max keeps his tone polite and perhaps a little welcoming.* Before you tell me more, perhaps you would be kind enough to tell me your family and any political affiliations you have?
Castor follows the Reeve, staying beside him, careful not to trek ahead or fall behind. "I am a Sanctified Nosferatu, Sir. Deacon Grigoriev was kind enough to greet me at the door. To be honest, I have little in the way of political ambition. My life and unlife has been centered on service and faith. I am hoping to continue that here in Sacramento."

*Not for the first time, Max wonders what it is about the Sanctified that seemed to draw the Nosferatu. If he had been cursed with the afflictions most Haunts seemed to suffer; the last thing the Reeve would do would be to venerate the god that struck him down with it. But, faith was a funny thing; and Max was content to let others believe as they wished, so long as it did not affect him. Instead, he simply nods as the man speaks.* I've dealt with Deacon Grigoriev before, a capable man. You were lucky to find him so easily.
You say you have military and law enforcement experience. Is that something you wish to elaborate on, Mr Drake?
"I served in the Army, when I was young, as an infantryman. Retired as a lieutenant. Then moved to Texas and was the sheriff of a small town for a number of years leading up to my embrace." Castor thinks of how long ago it has been. "To be honest, I learned more in the Army than in law enforcement. After my embrace I was a retainer and guard for a Cardinal in the South. He traveled often and I was part of his escort."

*Max nods, a very useful set of skills indeed. If the man was telling the truth...* Deputy Conner is currently organizing teams of individuals wishing to prove themselves within the city. Perhaps you should talk with him? I'm sure he would be eager to talk to a man with your... abilities. I could introduce you, if you'd like...
Castor nods in agreement. "I'd be most grateful for the introduction Reeve Heinz." He gazes around searching for Conner. "Deputy Conner. I'll do my best to commit his name to memory. So many new faces in one evening is a bit disorienting. How big are the teams, Reeve? If you don't mind my asking?"

Trust me, once you meet Deputy Greyson, he is an easy man to remember... *Whatever the Reeve meant by that, he does not elaborate on; instead making his way towards the gathering of Kindred the other Mekhet had nestled in. He quickly realises his mistake in naming the Deputy, shaking his head at his slip of the tongue.*
Forgive me, Deputy GREYSON, not Conner. I still get that confused sometimes... *How long had O'Conner been gone from the city, and Max was still getting the two confused?* He is also the Priscus of Shadows, so be sure to be doubly respectful when you speak to him.
*Stopping just short of the gathering of other Kindred, Max turns back to face Drake.* How big are they? Well, that depends on how many of them come back alive from the night before, Mr Drake... *The raised eyebrows and quirked smile of the Reeve make it hard to determine if he is indulging a twisted sense of humor, or a twisted view of reality.*
"I will remember his name and title. Hopefully I will remember it in the future. Its no easy task keeping so many names straight."
What an odd man. Castor chuckles. "Reeve Heinz, the tenacity of the young can be surprising. I'm sure that MOST of them will come back from the night before." He offers the Reeve a half smile. What an exceptionally odd man.
