The gathering of fae travel south out of the freehold, leaving the 4 Seasons in two vehicles, one driven by Dr. Jack, the second by Katie. Enroute, Rook is brought uptodate regarding what went down at Sandra's place and what lead to this hunt. First and foremost, finding Sandra was imperitive as she was a close, personal friend of Katie, and the reason why they were all here.

However, for those who had been around the block a while, running a close second was gathering a lead on Enzo, ironically banished from the freehold by the now-disgraced HAL, for it was the Fairest whom Jack saw when he used one particular clause of Animation on Fetch-Sandra's remains, handing the mortal over to some Fae-creature.

And so, Florin, South Sacramento. Florin Towne Centre to be precise, an outdoor shopping centre opened just a few years ago with numerous retailing venues within its domain surrounding a large car park. One such place is a big McDonalds, the only restaurant in the area and fairly busy by the time the two cars pulled up nearby.

How romantic Sexy_E_Vey must have been....

Rook's metal eyes scanned the area, and he smiled a very slight, private smile at the idea of telling Laura to meet him at a MacDonalds for a date. Romance was apparently dead in this day and age. Not that it had to be a grand gesture of romance, costing every penny someone owned. He remembered with a pang, the first time he'd taken his wife on a date. He'd barely been able to afford the gas for the car. They'd gone to a drive in movie.

He'd brought her a single rose, because it was all he could afford. She'd laughed. Not because he was making a gesture, but because she'd been stunned that he'd gone to the effort.

Rook shook away the ghost of Laura, and to cover the movement put his sunglasses straight.

"Nice place to hook up," he said, quietly amused. "If Fast food chic is your thing."

"If your thing is eating at a place where they put the logo on their buns, good taste needs to be slapped into your mouth." Otto said snidely, looking at the McDonald's. It was trash food, tasting little better than it's wrapping paper. Hole in the wall burgers places were great. Turning in a circle Otto scans the area for anything out of the ordinary.

Following the others, Jack looks around as he wonders what the hell they are going to find here.

Otto spots no outward signs of anything interesting, apart from the large number of people actually inside the restaurant, eating or queueing. In fact, he spots a couple of men, blue collar workers judging by their clothes, finish one tray of food before heading back up to order more.

Katie and Manny exited her car and as soon as she spotted the fast food chain restaurant, she sighed.

"I should've guessed, really. Sandy always had a soft spot for the burgers."

Manny flexes his hands on instinct before looking to Katie. "ช่วยกับความอยาก."

Katie nodded, a sad expression drifting over her features. She looked towards the others. "Shall we go order or take a look round a bit first?" she asked, unsure if there was a natural leader to the group, who seemed to know each other more.

Rook glanced around, and he adjusted his sunglasses again. It wasn't exactly a nervous habit, but he didn't want to get the others into problems. Or let them know that he wore the glasses because he had to, not because he really wanted to walk around looking like a member of the secret service. His pride wouldn't allow him to let them in.

"We'd better check the area out first- at least enough so that we don't get run into a corner,"
he said, adjusting his tie and thinking he was going to look like a Goddamn idiot walking into a MacDonalds dressed like this. "Because I'm gonna look like a Goddamn idiot walking into a fast food joint dressed in a suit." Son of a bitch, I did not mean to say that. His tongue twitched, as if to remind him that he'd made the mistake of letting his control slip for a moment.

After glancing down at his own attire, the good doctor leans over to speak softly to Rook.

"Yeah... right there with ya, pal. Not to mention the 'food' here just plain sucks..."

Turning back toward Katie, Jack speaks in a normal voice as he gestures to Rook and himself.

"How about we 'case the joint' while the rest of you order some food."

The Spring Armiger looks pointedly at Otto and Xerxia as he continues. His eyes flash like razor blades when he mentions the suspected traitor.

"You two can try to chat them up at the counter and see if anyone remembers Sandy... or Enzo."

Hell... he probably works here. You'd have to be missing a tongue... and a conscience... to actually serve this shit to people.

Katie nods at Jack's suggestion but jumps in shock as a lorry flies by from the main road, honking its horn as it does so. The Fairest, regaining her composure, smiles nervously. "Sorry, sorry. Loud noises make me jump."

Standing nearby, Manny's sleeves of his hoody seem to have ripped along the forearm area. He doesn't seem to comment.

"Manny and me will go in after Otto and Xerxia, grab a table and take a look around," she adds to the plan. "Sound good?"

Otto glanced down at his own rumpled suit but chose not to comment about attire. Turning to Katie he gestured to Manny. "What did he say?" The hand clenching and Katie's reaction heightened his dislike at having to work along side someone he couldn't understand or completely trust.

Katie looked from Otto to Manny and back again.

"He said, 'helped with the craving.' Sandy didn't only sell, she used too. You must know what the munchies are like, right, Otto?"
