"Buenos tardes a usted tambien, Senora LaFleur." Ricardo pause for a moment. He needed to be careful how he asked this so that he did not offend her. "Are you from around here? I arrived form Mexico not long ago, and did not see you at the last Court." Since she said at lest something to him in Spanish, he figured he would ask "Would you happen to speak Spanish Madam? No hay ningun persona que habla Espanol aqui." (There is no one who speaks Spanish around here.)

Sarah frowns slightly when Ricardo mentions that there is no one else in the Domain who apparently possesses a talent for such a beautiful and cultured tongue. "Sí señor Rodriguez hablo español y es una lástima que haya pasado tanto tiempo sin oír un lenguaje tan bello." The Daeva considers the other question, the one concerning her absence from the Domain. "He vuelto hace poco a esta ciudad después de una ausencia de unos pocos meses y este es mi primer evento social, ya que he estado de nuevo en el dominio." The Succubi smiles after speaking, clearly enjoying the conversation and being able to offer Ricardo a taste of something the other kindred seemed to be missing until now.
Her Spanish betrays a hint of the dialect of Northwestern Mexico or the southwestern USA, however a native Spanish speaker from those areas would more than likely recognize that it was not where she learned the language or the dialect of those who taught her the language. It seems to be more habits picked up from using the language in that area than anything else.
It was really good to be speaking in his native tongue again. The Lord smiled back at the Dava. "Cuando yo fue a esta ciudad, yo crei haya muchos personas que habla espanol alli. " (When I came to this city, I thought there would be lots of Spanish speaking people here.) Ricardo was definitely appreciative of the conversation, but something was still bothering him. "Si no es descortés que me pregunto, ¿por qué te fue, señora?" (If it is not rude that I ask, why did you leave madam?)
Ricardo's Spanish is, of course, that of a Mexican who was born and raised in Northern Mexico.
Well I might as well get some practice answering that question the Daeva thought to herself when Ricardo asked about her reasons for leaving the city. Others would ask and she would need to be able to tell them something. "Salí de esta ciudad con el fin de encontrar alguna información sobre mi Padrón" ( I left this city to find some information about my Sire ). The blond Daeva leaves her statement at that, hoping to appear willing to openly converse and at the same time indicate politely to the gentlemanly Ricardo that she considered the information she was looking for, and if she found it or not, to be a bit personal for a first engagement.
"Eso es muy extraño. Es una lengua importante para la población humana de la ciudad y todo el estado." ( That is very strange. It is an important language for the human population of the city and throughout the state ). She thought on that fact for a moment, wondering what it said about her fellow Kindred.
"Así que el señor Rodríguez puedo preguntar lo que te trajo aquí a esta ciudad?" ( So Mr. Rodriguez I can ask what brought you here to this city? ) The Succubi turns her head, obviously interested in the man's answer.

Ricardo was perfectly content at not questioning her motivation any further. He thought that many Kindred did seemingly strange things either because their Sires asked them to or forbid them form doing something. His own sire was a monster.
He decided to reply to her statement about the importance of Spanish with a sarky question in addition to agreement. "Por su puesto, estoy de acuerdo. Nuestra raza es bastante estancada. ?Cree que nuestros antecesores no quieren saber Ingles? " (Of course, I agree. Our kind is quite stagnant. Do you think that our ancestors did not want to learn English?)
Although he was a little uneasy about sharing why he left she had shared first. "Yo no quería estar cerca de mi patrón más, y yo quería saber si los rumores sobre el Norte fuera cierto." (I didn't want to be around my Sire any more, and I wanted to know if the rumors about The North were true.) Plus, like he already said, he thought there would be many Kindred who spoke Spanish here.

The Daeva offers a knowing smile when Ricardo mentions that he did not want to be around his Sire, her thoughts drifting to her own Sire and the circumstances of her embrace. Dress up nice he said, make sure you're perfect he said, as perfect as if you wish to be for all eternity. I thought he was just trying to be romantic until he killed me. Well at least I had followed his advice and thus don't need to spend an hour every night waxing. Still she had gotten as far away from him as she could, rebelling against his presumed authority and desire to bring her into the fold of the Lancea et Sanctum. It was really ironic that she spent a decade hoping he'd fuck off back then and now that she needed him, the son of a bitch was off in dreamland, hidden god knows where.
"Mejora del uno mismo es importante" (Self Improvement is Important)Sarah says with a smile "Tenemos tiempo y es una lástima perderlo por no estar dispuesto a aprender y probar cosas nuevas" (We have time and it is a shame to lose it by not being willing to learn and try new things). It was a way to keep the beast at bay, to focus on one's self and the world around you. Interact with the world, watching as it's societies evolved, learning and not giving in the malaise and stagnation of the ages.

Blush, Imbibe, Blush, Blush, Blush, Imbibe, The young Nosferatu moved away from Mr. Grigoriev and spotted Ricardo talking to a lovely blonde woman. Curious, she approached the two and heard the two speaking Spanish.
Ricardo must be thrilled, Jennifer smiled. "Bueno Diaz." She said, pausing besides Ricardo. "And that, sadly, concludes my Spanish knowledge. Good evening." She nods to the unknown woman.
"I'm Jennifer Hazelton, of the Nosferatu. I just arrived from San Diego last night."
As Jennifer joined them, Ricardo felt mixed emotions. He was glad to have his friend by his side, but a bit sad that he would have to stop talking in his own language. He decided to introduce them turning to Jennifer he begins, "Madam Hazelton, this is Madam Sarah LaFleur." At that point he realized that they hadn't even mentioned their Clans yet. He turns back to Sarah, "I do not believe we have mentioned our families yet. I am a Lord." He waited for Sarah's reply, ready to recite his lineage if she was also a Lord.

Sarah smiles as Jennifer introduces herself, a gesture which grows warmer as the young female Kindred mentions San Diego, a city which held fond memories for the blond Daeva who had spent almost fifteen years of her Requiem in that beautiful city on the Pacific Ocean.
"I am Succubi." The last word rolls off her tongue with a mix of the pride and elegance which defines the clan. "Also Senor Rodriguez, it is simply Miss LaFleur." She did not wish to be accused of pretending to be a member of the First Estate in a city where they called the head lawman "Reeve".
"So how are you both finding Sacramento so far?"

"Ah, I've found it very pleasant." The young Nosferatu replied. "Every one has been so helpful. Hopefully, I can return the favor.."
She opened her mouth to say more when she catches a woman searching her out in reply to Whip Grigoriev's words.
"Pardon me, Ricardo, Miss LaFleur. I believe my Whip wishes me to meet someone. I hope to get to know you better at a later time, Miss."
Jennifer smiled in what she hoped was a friendly way.
