As soon as the Metalflesh was in the car, Rea started it up, drove off of the campus and parked a few streets away. She sent Leo a quick text, mentioning a street corner to meet at and a five minute time line.
"I know that Leo can take care of himself so if he doesn't show up I'm going to keep driving. Trust me, he knows how to hide, if he has to. Besides, a single person, who can perfectly disguise themselves I'll add, is much more capable of getting somewhere unnoticed than two people in a distinctive car," Rea explained flatly, her gaze daring Rook to argue. "It's not abandonment. It's just not. He has five minutes and then he's on his own." Somehow she managed to appear perfectly calm despite the words she used.
Five minutes later, the Volkswagen bug drove away.
