Succulence of the crimson liquid ran down her throat. The rich nourishment, sweetened by the taste of adrenaline. It was pure and vivacious as it began feeding her veins and quenching the hunger again. The pulse that ran through her lips did not remind her of the past life, but of another pulse. The elixir still flowed across her lips like water to a desert, quenching that need and desire for more. Slowly and carefully she sipped, like fine wine.

If someone would have told her after the change, she would want more than more than an emotional connection, she would have never believed them. Hearing a heartbeat is not the same anymore. The decedent life that strums through it sends an ache through the body. One that is an over powering craving for more. It is a wonder that we are ever satiated. The desire is more than anything psychological. It is a need over a want. Is it thirst or is it lust? Lust takes on a new form after the change. The change that makes the beast within challenge everything. Its unlike a human hunger. The need is over powering, making the monster within search for that which will suit their need. The want to survive in this undead world can outweigh common sense.

She never wanted to drink the crimson fluids from her candidates. She had no choice. As she licked the marks closed on the athlete in the park she told him he fainted. Then she began running in the rain, as she was so fond of, liberation came in so many forms.

So much weighed on her mind as she ran to think. Ariana kept thinking of Louie and how he pushed her to be more bold and assertive, despite the fact that it was rare anyone said no to an interview.

The one of notes that let her mind slip off to another place. To ebb and flow as measure for measure eased through her body. The fondness of such had begun to sink in and pull the spirit out that begged to be heard.

An opaque sentinel came quietly into the night. Taking away what once was, and absolving her sleepless days. Gracious for an eternity, how could she repay such a gift. Perhaps she had already done so and never questioned the reason back before.

She stopped in the middle of the park. Realizing why she was doing what she was doing. Ariana, why are you still running?

There was no need any longer.
