Like being surrounded on all sides by a suffocating element and enough dark to make us crazy. Yeah, id say this is a bad spot.

Chris had never once felt the desire to paint, until now. It was beautiful. He keeps an eye out for anything that might be approaching the group while they spoke though. He wondered, would painting be hard?

Jordan had a bad feeling about all of this, as if someone was going to die. He had no doubt that his pack mates could feel exactly what he was feeling. He looked around the group. He looked at the other pack, some part of him was wishing that if anyone died it would be one of them. A cruel thought but Sally and Matthew were his family and if something happened to them it would destroy him.

He looked at Matthew and Sally. It was a dangerous job, he knew that, they knew it too. But this one seemed even more dangerous than any. He couldn't protect both of them not that either would appreciate it. Both were able to defend themselves. He thought on it some more. He would stick close to Sally. Out of the two Matthew was the more able fighter. He would be ok.

Starflower walked with the rest, arrow half-drawn. Starseeker doesnt have his Wisdom renown anymore. His look towards the former Alpha sours, but he averts his gaze back to the darkness. Is that why you left? To part ways with Kamduis? FOCUS. Deal with that later. If were still alive.

Chantay nods in silent agreement to Matthew's words, and the two spirits press forward again.

The time in transit is uneventful...even Matthew and Chantay not seeing much in the dark waters. Though Starseeker is treated to dazzling, and ever changing whorls of thermal imagery deep beneath the waves. And he's also the first to spot their destination. A large heat signature in front of them, growing ever larger even if he can't quite figure out what it is with infravision. Chantay and Matthew are the next to see it; as shock, sorrow, and disgust mar the Elodoth's beautiful features. But soon enough all can see what it is. The slash within the ephemera of the river itself...the bloated, festering edges.

Tony had told Sally, when he directed her to the hangar, that her payment to him would be cleansing the most troubling wound within the city.

The wise Ithaeur had perhaps never been so wrong...

A low growl bubbles up from Matthew's throat, anger and disgust at the infection hacked into the Hisil's fabric. A few chaotic images spill over through the pack bond before he clamps down on his thoughts; a great wrongness beneath the river, now before them, the recognizability blurred by alien metaphor. Were these pieces of the dreams that so often troubled the Cahalith's sleep?

Quickly composing himself, the Cahalith turns to make eye contact individually with each of the other Uratha present. <<We all know the danger of this place, and the reasons wolves hunt in packs. Press onward, together, and we'll root out the source of this disease.>>
