Another Night, Another Hunt

Vincent was walking through McKinley Park, the largest of its kind within the Sworn's turf and humming a tune. To the observant, it would sound akin to Welcome to the Jungle, by the great Guns & Roses.

Oh, and he wasn't smoking.

It seemed instead Vinny was chewing on some gum. Was this an effort to quit? Who knew? At least it should make his sense of smell better...

With events at the hospital still fresh in his mind, Vincent was thinking about the Magath situation and this 'Master of the River' bullshit.

"We'll have fun and games," he said out loud, while sending a mass text to the rest of the Sworn and the new guy. Who needed to howl in the digital age?

Jeremiah shows up in what will become his trademark set up of khakis and long sleeve button down, today brown bottom and gray top. A faint whiff of blood can be smelled if you get close enough, that close though...he'll probably be looking at you weird.

"So you decide to not smoke the one day you tell me to hunt you down by smell?" Jeremiah asks jokingly as he walks up to the Beta.

Vinny glanced at Jeremiah as the second of the Sworn's Itheaur arrived, and smirked.

"Well, couldn't make it too easy," he chuckled, offering a stick of gum to Jerry. "Any word from Gwen or Mike?"

A few minutes later, Gwen walks onto the scene, cellphone in hand, apparently consulting the latest messages sent between the wacky duo. It was good to see those two keeping light spirits. Gwen herself was rather worried, and deep in thought. She was the spirit expert, damn it, there had to be something she could do. Has to be, has to be.

Tonight, the Alpha has traded in her traditional t-shirt for a sweater. What? Even wolves get chilly sometimes. Done with the messages, she puts the phone back in her pocket, before approaching 'the boys'.

"Hey guys," she uses as a way of greeting her packmates. She adds, matter-of-factly, "You know, if you can smell each other that far off, you might want to think of bathing." Of course she's read the texts. But really, answering in person has always been way, way more fun.

Vincent looked to his Alpha, a predatory glint in his eye, a passion re-kindled. Must be the lack of smoke filtering from his nostrils, a trick of the light....

"You've been thinking of that all the way over, right?" he joked, taking another stick of gum and shoving it into his mouth, chewing hard and fast. When the other two glance his way, Vinny simply mumbles something.

"I'm trying to quit, give me a break..."

Jeremiah sniffs his arm and then shrugs. He had remembered to shower today. Some days....some days blurred into other days.

"Our healing speed doesn't compensate for smoking?" He asks the other two quietly. As far as he understands the only down side to a wolf smoking is that they smell like it and that whole possible addiction problem. Can we get addicted to substances?

"No," she answers a little too defensively. It takes her a few moments to come up with what she considers a suitable answer. "Just since I smelled the two of you half a mile out."

The younger Ithaeur, for his part, gets the kinda-mothering look. "Not sure Jeremiah. Let's try not to find out the hard way." She gives Vincent a nod and a thumbs-up. "Hang in there, Vinnie. We're rooting for you." After a moment's thought, she adds, "Heck, I'd take a piece of gum for solidarity, if you didn't look like you're going to need all of them." Delivered with the exact tone of friendly ribbing the two have developed. You know the one.

The gang was all here. Now all that was missing was the newest recruit.

Vincent smirked while taking his phone from his pocket.

No messages.

"Where is this fucking guy?" he asks with growing frustration. Taking out yet another stick of gum, Vinny stuffs it in his mouth while dropping his phone back into his pocket. "I swear, five minutes and then I'm gonna hunt him."

Jeremiah checks the time on his phone with a grin, glancing at Vinny.

Actually how well would a cahalith iron master be able to hunt down an irrake hunter...sounds like we need a betting pool.
