Ariana had picked up a newspaper and glanced over the article for CORE Dance Collective she turned in the night before. She had been complimented on her work by her editor Mr. Brandt (which was a complete shock). Yet as she looked it over, Ariana’s recollection of that night was still vivid...

Taking a seat at the Crocker Art Museum to see “Silent Noise,” Ariana was beginning to enjoy the broadening of her role at the Bee. Reading through the program and noting upcoming events she listened partly to the banter of the other audience members. Often she over heard valuable tips for future events this way.

As the dancing started she noted the costuming and movement of the dancers. How beautifully they moved together. Within a few moments all of the dancers moved into a waterfall like pattern of arms and torsos to make a forced arch. As the opening cleared, two lithe red heads took the stage. Twins.

Ariana dropped her program. Arielle.

Memories flooded through her mind that she had pushed out for over a decade. Continuing to watch the ladies dance was almost like watching their old rehearsal and performance videos. Completely synchronized and fluid with each other. They blended well with other dancers but together the language of twins moved through their bodies with little effort.

In her mind, she faintly heard their dance instructors voice calling, “Ana and Elle come quickly.” Then the harmonized giggling she and her sister shared when the discussed the cute boys in which they were assigned to dance. Ariana struggled between the current performance and memories.

...She put the paper on the table. Now that she was slightly more familiar with the city perhaps it was time she was better acquainted with those of which Arielle had become.
