In this thread letters will be posted. The correspondence is between Alice, and Phoenix' future toon named Bethany. (So please don't close the thread)

Dear most Lovely and Honorable Bethany, my eternal Sister.

I am writing this letter because I miss you.

It has never come up to me to write a letter since I left Europe, but you can be sure that a lot has happened ever since. First things first: you probably still remember Jeremy, the handsome guy who made me leave you. The one who you 'hate fucking much', or better in your words, who you dislike from time to time. Anyway, I am done with him too. He broke up, we had a nice fight, and I left. If I had stayed with you longer you would have learned me to fight better, but it is no use crying over spilled milk.

So I am not in Las Vegas anymore, though I still think it is one of the most Awesome cities I have ever seen, yes, Awesome with capital A. If you’d think Paris has a nice Casino… wow, you have to see Las Vegas. Now I am in Sacramento though, nice as well. You will surely like it here! I mean, the first Court I witnessed, consisted mostly of dueling Kindred. Regencies were for the taking. I am having a great time here already… the Prince is one handsome fuck. Emphasis the last word.

With those last thoughts in mind, aren’t you done with Rouen? I mean, yes, Vive La France! But a little refreshment can only do you any good. Refreshment as in: new herd, new business, new fight partners, new elders and whatnot. PLUS: ME!! I know you almost love me as much as I love myself, so please consider coming to America!

Now, enough about me. Details will be reserved for later. First, your little sister wants to know how you are doing? What are the last rumours I missed? Has something good happened to you while I was gone, just the normal things I want to know about my family. Please tell me.

Dear and beloved sister, madam Alice, honorable member of the succubus and wondrous representative of the bacchantes,

I am very pleased to be hearing from you and even more delighted to hear that you have finally parted way with sir Jeremy. You are most right when you say that I have strong feeling of hate with this kindred though I wouldn't use such a crass word as ... you know what ... to describe him.

I am not surprised you liked Las Vegas so much as a kindred as I still remember the times when you talked about visiting the city as a mortal.Glad to hear that 'Sin city' (as it is sometimes being described by Father antonio) lived up to your expectations. Tell me, what do you think of your new home now ? Does the city of Sacramento and most importantly its kindred agree with you ?

Your letter seems to indicate so, but please sister, be carefull, especially in your dealing with the prince. Don't go using the .... 'f' word to describe him, in fact, don't use that word at all, especially not in court and around other members of the first estate. I know I should not worry so much but you can be careless at times when dealing with others and I think it is good that someone remind you the benefit of temperance with use of coarsh language and harsh behavior.

Things are not so good in Rouen. There has been a string of kindred murders and, even though one of the culprit has been caught red handed and turn into ash, the situation is flaring up with everyone accusing each other of being behind those heinous crime.

And as a member of the knighthood of the thorned wreath, I am duty bound to uphold the security until such time as the situation is cleared, the culprit found and the safety of the invictus insured.

As for the rest of Europe, not much has changed since you last visited, many kindred are still reeling from the market fallout of those last few years and a lot of the usual scheming revolves around that fact, elders trying to salvage the mess and neoates and ancillae trying to take opportunities to open new markets.

In fact, my grandsire, in order to maintain his financial empire which is great, needs to invest and protect some of his interest in the new world. I have talked with him since receiving your letter, and one of the concerned cities just happens to be Sacramento. So, my duties could propel me to your new home in the future, provided we manage to clean up the mess in Rouen.

As for other rumours in Europe, besides the killing, did you know that alder Robert the Chateauneuf has forsaken 'non consecrated' human blood. His blood is thickening sure but I suspect the followers of longinus of putting 'pîous' idea in his head, like who he should and should not prey upon.

Apart from that, madam Sarina has lost standing in our first estate, she did promise to find who's behind the killing in rouen and has not come back with satisfactory results. In fact, it has gone so bad that she is now the prime suspect in the aformentioned killing while she is, on her side, outraged of such accusations. It might degenerate into monomacy one of these days, in fact, I might be called to defend the honor of one of the more better standing member.

But do not worry about me, there are very few kindred who could rival my skills in the blade in Rouen and all are in the thorned wreath and thus, without a reason to harm me.

I shall keep the contact with you, hoping to hear from you soon. In the meanwhile, and again, please do be carefull in your dealing with the prince and always act like a distingished member of the first estate. Use your wits well and, hopefully, you'll be rewarded with feeding rights in the future.

Most Magnificent Madam Brown, my dear Bethany,


When I read back my previous letter I see that I have become even less courteous than I ever was. My apologies, I know how much you can appreciate proper language, so I will try and do my best. It is time to send your good vibes through your letters, because then it will get better with me. Well, I actually feel pretty good. I think Sacramento has a good set of Kindred. There is this Keeper of Elysia, Martha Villiers, you are going to like her! She is even more polite than most humans I have ever seen. She is a real mystery, I mean that I am very curious how she could be so friendly all the time. I have not spoken a lot with her, but I hear her speak in Court of course. And for the rest of the Kindred, give me some more time and I will let you know more.

Ooh sweet sister, you and your nice mouth. It is the 21th century, I am afraid your ´f´ word is the most used word in the United States. But, you are right about my coarse language. Though on the other side, without my harsh behavior, we would not have been what we are. So perhaps if I just use it less frequently I can still make some advantages out of it.

Leaving me and my language behind, I must say that I am shocked by your news of Rouen Bethany. It would be rude to ask you to come to me if there is such a chaos. I imagine they would think you are the murderer, leaving the actual perpetrator unpunished. So it is best if you stay a while, though I do not want to admit it. And above that Sarina comes with her problems, now you ask me not to worry? It is almost crude. I am going to worry just as much about you as you worry about me. ´There is more than blades in the world´, your own words Sis. I mean, apart from all nightmarish powers and such, there are always guns, like mine. (Wink)

I will keep you updated on the situation here, though progress is at hand, gladly. I actually want to pick up our old art business, but I settle down first. And with the happy news that our grandsire could be interested in international investments, I have more reasons to wait a little while. About that, there are some very interesting television programs, please see the added card. Just a funny joke about money and such. I found it rather amusing and fitting our subject.

Anyhow, I will be carefull with the Prince (not), and I will behave as one of the Kindred of Quality we belong to be. Anyhow, as one of the few wise people on earth once said: A vaincre sans péril, on triomphe sans gloire.

Dear dear deeear Bethany,

Is everything alright? It has been a while ago since I sent my last letter, and with all the murders in Rouen I started to worry about you. And worrying about things one of my least favorite things to do, so please tell me that you feel good, and that you are just too busy with training to answer me.

For the heads up in Sacramento: I might organize the next Official Court here! I am so excited. Now I need to come with something really really good, the problem is I am not sure yet, what the city exactly likes. Anyhow, if you have some ideas, please send them.

Meanwhile the party planning, I am also working in a night club, I need my food you know. And most of the times it is a cool job to do. I am afraid I cannot start my own nightclub, there is too much competition, from the Boss himself. Mister Handsome owns all clubs. On the bright side, I think there is no sword club yet. That leaves some opportunities open for when you are here, if you come of course.

Dear Alice,

I am sorry to reply to you so late, but things have been quite hectic back in Rouen. We may have found a lead as to who's behind the murders back there. We have found some traces of an heretic branch of the circle of the crone calling themselves the siphan, worshipping some kind of monster of biblical proportions. And by the looks of if, they are trying not only to kill the oppositions but to place their own pawns as well in order to take the city.

What's even worse, kindred from all other factions in the city have tried to take advantage of that fact to organize some murders themselves and blame it on the Siphans. Not only do we have to face the threat of a dangerous rogue circle of the crone organization but we are on the cusp of civil war as well, something I fear the Siphans knew would happen.

I wish I had better news to give you but that's the reality of the situation back in rouen. As a member of both the invictus and the Order ot the thorned wreath, I am heavily investigating and dispatching not only the threat of the Siphan but also of those who endangers the city and the masquerade, the mortals having already started to notice the unusual string of murders.

They think it's gang related though thanks to Darius' help. You remember Darius ? I think you met him a couple of time last time you were in the old continent. He's kind of boorish and rude but is a very gifted mekhet when it comes to gathering and manipulating information. I work closely with him now, both to uphold the masquerade and to find out the traitors and terrorist in the city. I wish I could work with someone more refined but sometimes necessity makes up for strange bedfellows.

But enough of this. What will happen, will happen, and despite all I have told you, the knighthood remains strong and I have faith in our order ability to clean up this mess once and for all and to come up stronger of all this.

Good job by the way ln securing the honor to organize court. I think it will be a great opportunity for you to show up your talents. As to what Sacramento's kindred might like ... remember that we are vampires. If we were humans, a tasting of rare and precious wine would work in high society but as we are kindred, a tasting of rare blood types or donor could be appropriate. You could even make a contest of this between the kindred of the city. The one who brings the best tasting vessel wins or something ... just an idea.

That being said, I have faith in your abilities to win the heart of the city kindred, you always have been the social one between the two of us. So just remember to play on those strengths.

Finally, I confirm to you that, once the situation is sorted in rouen, I will be able to come to the city of Sacramento and join you there, for the reasons I mentioned in my previous letter.
