Kaito and Patrick walked a couple of blocks towards the Four Seasons. Kaito had not spoken since they left the bar, she was mostly lost in her own thoughts and feeling sorry for Patrick. It was not easy to find out the monarch of your season could be responsible.

The pair walked in silence, eventually getting to the hotel. Kaito wasted no time, without any hint of hesitation she walked into the lobby and marched upto the Reception desk with a sense of urgency.

"We need to see Mr Bates as a matter of urgency. Could you please Inform him Kaito and Patrick are here to see him." Kaito smiled politely at the receptionist. "We shall wait here for him." She quickly added. Anticipating the usual suggestion that they wait in the bar. It was time to take the bull by the horns and sort this mess out sooner rather than later.

Patrick kept his thoughts to himself as he and Kaito quickly walked the distance to the 4Seasons. Unusually withdrawn and quiet, he makes several attempts to come up with a positive reason why HAL would ... the Darkling was unable to hold the thought in his mind. If it was true, if HAL had been responsible for the disappearance of the Winter Queen, then everything was a lie. The Ash Run, most of their search, did the Oath he had sworn even take effect if the Monarch who had administered it was working against that very Oath.

The Darkling barely notices as Kaito demands Mr. Bates. Well he does not notice the clerk, rather it was the woman who caught his attention. Her fear, so pronounced upon their first meeting, was gone now and replaced with a steel determination to right a wrong committed against her Court. Her passion, the way she had overcome her fear, her ... Focus. Focus. Dangerous situation, must Focus.

Nightfall arrived at the Four Seasons, taking a moment to go to the restroom to 'strap up', as they said in the 'hood.

Alice made her way into the four seasons and looked around for Neil. She wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but thought that perhaps they were going on a hunt or heading out to investigate something. That was unless she completely misunderstood his message.

Dressed in unrestrictive clothing she had her jacket on, which covered up anything that might be carried or strapped to her. When nightfall returned Alice walked up to him.

"Hey, so what's going on?"

Seeing that Kaito seemingly had things under control at the Front Desk, Patrick takes a moment to quickly run to the elevator and take it up to the floor his room was on. Picking up the same long bag that he had been carrying earlier that long day, the Darkling quickly makes his way back down to the front lobby to rejoin his friend from Winter.

Nodding to her with a weak smile he whispers "Just in case." Well he probably would not be very effective in a fight but with his weapon at least he had a chance of assisting. Darkling brawler was not a title that would describe him.

"Hey," Nightfall greeted Alice with a smile that was genuine, but there was too much going on for his face to light up as it did usually.

"The short story?" he asked in a whisper, moving close.

"Byeli went to Fairweather to buy back the Orchestra a bit ago. She was supposed to finalize the deal, but didn't show up. Suddenly her 'new partner'... HAL... shows up today to seal the deal."

Nightfall looked at Alice to see what she thought.

Alice listened carefully to what was told to her and something about it did not sit right with her.

"I suppose it is too much to hope that they were working together from the start to accomplish this?" She sighed heavily before continuing "This lack of communication is irritating from all three of the others even when one wasn't missing. But, maybe your right, something about HAL, and well giana for that matter, always bothered me."

"Well... you'll probably find it easy to talk to Rick or Terri," Nightfall answered with a grim smile, knowing she'd understand what he was implying and answering her question.

"We should start doing a date night where we drive to San Francisco," he added with a smile. Sometimes he worried about the pressures of the crown on his beloved.

Mr. Bates arrives looking a bit out of sorts. In fact, the poor man looks like he hasn't gotten a good night's sleep in a while.

"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid it's really not a good time right now."

What the assembled Lost might find most disturbing, especially Patrick, is that the hotel manager looks frightened.

The Darkling of Autumn wondered for a second at what could possibly scare a fellow member of the Court of Fear so thoroughly that the emotion seemed to roll off the manager like an avalanche in the Rocky Mountains. This was something bad. Very Bad. Yet Patrick had to think. What would William's cousins do? They would stay rational. Stay calm and collected, focused on the problem at hand. The first step was important, calm Bates down.

"That is why we are here Mr. Bates. We are here to deal with this problem and we will be successful but we will require your assistance Mr. Bates. You will need to bring us up to speed on what you know about what is going on here. Help us now like you have assisted so many of us before."

Okay it was a pretty terrible speech but Patrick knew the group needed whatever information the man could provide them. Mr. Bates had access to HAL, would have seen the changes in the Monarch. All if their worst fears were to be confirmed, then they would need all the information they could get before confronting a Mad Monarch.

Also Luck. A good deal of Luck would be nice too.
