Meeting the Family

Vinny happily walks with Mike across the city from the Tur to the territory of the Sworn, gladly talking about Sacramento in as much detail as he can, and as much as Mike wants to listen, especially seeing that the Cahalith was born and bred here.

Entering Sworn territory, Vincent contnues to talk while taking seemingly random pictures with his camera every now and again. However, what he doesn't do is point out anything that would give away the finer points of his homeground.

Reaching a house and Vinny leads Mike in, opening the front door and walking in.

"Fancy a drink, Mike?" he asks, before shouting out, "Gwen? You home?"

Vincent waited for a couple of seconds for a response but when none was forthcoming from his Alpha, he simply nods to Mike.

"Come on through," he says, leading him through to the kitchen-dining area, and heads for the fridge. Placing the camera down on the sideboard, Vinny opens the fridge and pulls out two beers and a half eaten tomato and mozzerella pizza with extra mozzerella. Handing one of the beers to Mike, he places the pizza down between them.

"Help yourself, my man."

Jeremiah shoulders his way through the door with a computer carrying case under one arm and a soda in the other. The side of a thinkpad sticks out of the case, apparently reveling in its boring, black, unshiny corporate design.

He looks between Vinny and this random guy as he drinks from the fast food cup. "Hey"

It takes a few more second for any sound from upstairs to be heard. Footsteps, making their way first to the stairs, then down towards the ground floor. They're not in any hurry, though they're not leisurely either. More like... determined.

"Hey Vinnie, was that you hollering?", she says loudly before she's fully down the stairs. She was tempted to use the word 'howling', but she stops herself from that kind of obvious and not very good joke. As she reaches the bottom of the stairs, she continues in a quieter tone of voice. "Sorry, I had earpho-", she starts to explain, but the words trail off as she notices the newcomer.

"Hi," she says simply with a small wave. "Name's Gwen." She offers the man a hand to shake. "I assume you're a guest of Vinnie's?" And there's just an edge to those words, and she throws the Beta the look. You know the one.

If Vinny had a tail, it would have gone between his legs about now. With a slice of pizza dangling from his mouth, he tries his best sheepish look towards his Alpha.

Hell, he'd even delete that picture if she wanted.

He could have introduced Mike but Gwen had asked him directly so didn't want to undermine the new guy. Instead, Vinny holds out his untouched beer to Jerry.

"Wow, you look like you've been dragged feet first through shit. No offence," he adds with a smile.

Gwen smiles back at the newcomer, doing her best to make the handshake a firm, welcoming one. "It's a pleasure." Her eyes dart to Vincent, very briefly, then back to Mike. "And yeah, Vinnie gets all the luck like that." There's just a hint of a joking tone there.

"So are you entirely new in town, or....?", she asks, leaving the sentence hanging. There was always the possibility that he'd been with another pack, and she hadn't met him (god knows the territory always asked too much to allow for socializing; Or at least, that's what Gwen told herself).

The woman spares a glance towards Jeremiah at his entrance, but doesn't comment beyond a simple "Hey" for the moment.

Jeremiah shakes his head when Vincent offers the beer and moves to the side of the room. He nods to his Alpha when she comes down the stairs but doesn't say a word. His mind focusing on the new wolf and what to make of him. So much for working.
