Winter Festival 2010

[Forn Clakes]

Another season in the Freehold of Sacramento comes and goes, Autumn's chill giving way to Winter's solitude. Certainly, it seems that winter has already arrived, however, the official switch between Courts has been stalled for reasons unknown. It matters not for the festival has once again been set at the Four Seasons, the political headquarters of the Seasonal Freehold and where the throne room hides away within its mighty Hollow.

Entering the Four Seasons on this chilly night, and Mr. Bates waits on hand to lead all Changelings through to the throne room, which is under the auspice of Autumn and the current ruler, Horace Albert Liebowitz. Its decoration is of an old castle with bare brick and high ceilings. Long wooden tables are laid out and laden with food crafted by the hands of Mrs. Rosemary, who stands nearby ready to serve and aid anyone interested in the more....exotic dishes prepared. Sam, the ensorcelled bartender, is also on hand to provide drinks and music plays in the background. Where its coming from is anybody's guest.

Shadows are heavy in the corners and on a raised dias at the far end of the room, King HAL sits upon the throne, straight backed and waiting to begin proceedings, his red eyes observing all.

[Nightfall]

Nightfall arrives early, dressed in a midnight black suit and crisp white shirt, homages to the Onyx Throne and white Winters. His own Court was prominent represented by a golden tie that shimmered pink at off-center angles.

It was not lost on the former Archer that Winter's ascension was late in coming, and he looked for several faces, lips thinning in a slight frown as he failed to locate Katrin...

...or Gianna.

The frown slipped away as he continued to walk the length of the hall, stopping in front of the ascendant Sovereign and bowing. "Good evening, Your Majesty," he said warmly. Terri and Rick's King had always been accommodating.

[Alice White]

Soon after Nightfall entered Alice arrived behind him. It was hard for her not to notice the lack of people present and couldn't help but check her watch to ensure that she had not arrived too early. The lack of lost present was concerning for her and especially the fact that the winter sovereign wasn't present either.

She made her way toward the current sovereign and nightfall with a smile on her lips.

"Evening Majesty," she replied with a low curtsey. As she rose she turned and smiled at Nightfall.

"I didn't think we were that early."

[Matt]

Kaito Arrives, she thanks Mr Bates as he shows her into the room. She was wearing her normal attire (Shown in Character Pic).

Taking a deep breath she approaches the man on the throne and curtseys. "Your Majesty"

[Dusan]

Juno entered the hall, her eyes looking around just in case the now-thoroughly disliked Bert was there and daring to show his face after the pleasant little letter she had received.

Coward. He couldn't break up with me face to face, he had to send a letter?

The timing for this was a horrible one. She had wanted to spend time with the blue Ogre at the Court, to show all of her detractors that yes, she was a female with a need for companionship -- that she felt accepted for herself. That it was a good thing.

The other Lost didn't need to know how badly she was hurting.

The Manticoress was dressed in a black tuxedo style jacket with velvet lapels and other trim, a pair of dark grey with black stripes trousers, a black t-shirt with some sort of faint design on it, her usual Vans skater shoes, and a pair of fingerless black gloves. Her nails had been painted black for the occaision, and the ensemble was accessorized by a woven scarf and a pair of dark purple sunglasses. Oddly enough, her usually well trimmed goatee had grown out into a full, if somewhat thin, beard on her cheeks. Perhaps it was a means of keeping herself warm during the colder months.

Juno was relieved that she found the sunglasses on sale -- she didn't want her eyes to give away just how distressed she was at the parting of ways with Bert and the potential that she would run into him there. There were some cards that she preferred to keep close to her chest. Besides, the less that other people knew, the less likely she would be guilty of being a disruptive presence.

Making her way forward, she bowed slightly to HAL with a softly murmured "Good Evening, your Majesty" then she approached Alice and Nightfall once she felt dismissed.

"Hello, I hope that you are both doing well this evening. That is a pretty outfit, Queen Alice. It compliments your coloring very well."

[Lesingnon]

Rick had always found the Autumn decor for the throne room to be a bit odd. Winter had its snowbound forest, Spring a blooming meadow, Summer the scorching desert...and Autumn had what appeared to be some castle tower. Apparently sometimes things were just a coincidence, instead of a pattern. But he couldn't help but think an Autumn forest with its brilliantly colored leaves would have made for a much better senses. Though perhaps that was because he was simply a nature person, especially considering the changes he'd undergone.

Though it wasn't something he dwelt on too much as he entered the Throne Room alongside Terri. Partially because it was something he'd had all season to consider, mainly because there were always more important things to think about during Court. He glanced over at his Heartsworn as he noted the crowd near the Throne. "Looks like we're all starting this one with a bow to the King." Which did seem, perhaps, just a bit strange. Hadn't had that during any of the other Coronations.

[Rust Mane]

Rust steps through the doors with sense of purpose. Cat eyes scan the few gathered and he frowns. He turns to Spartan, sharing a concerned sigh and the walks farther into the Castle. He bee lines for The Dread King, and bows with respect to the still ascendant Autumn.

He stands and straightens his jacket and replaces his hat, looking like a leonine Mafioso.
His sport jacket is pin striped with a shimmering red, a red tie clutches round his neck. His mantle swirls low with heat. Light is cast at odd shadows across his face, as if he was in a light that no one else shared.

[Terri Nutkins]

Terri frowns, only slightly. "Maybe HAL is trying to make a point, although I have to agree. Its a little weird," she whispered back. "Come on, let's go join the throng." Terri walks slowly towards the throne, waving to Mrs. Rosemary enroute. "Good evening, all, your Majesty," she says, smiling to all. She gives Alice and Neil an extra big grin and can't help but look at the ring adorning the Spring Queen's finger.

Outfit

HAL watched silently as his subjects filed in. If only he could make them stand in certain ways. What a design they would make. Pushing his thoughts aside, he nodded in return to all that had greeted him so proper. "Good evening, one and all. Mrs. Rosemary has provided nourishment. The coronation will begin as soon as Queen Byeli arrives. For now, enjoy."

[Dusan]

Justin showed up -- barely. He had forgotten that there was going to be a Winter Gathering and would have passed altogether had it not been made clear on the flyer that it was a Mandatory Fun even. In short, show up or else. He knew all about those attendance is mandatory affairs and he didn't feel up to dealing with any of the potential complications.

As he didn't belong to a Court he wasn't wearing any of the traditional colors -- a good quality dark grey suit with a nice traditional dark blue and black striped tie to accessorize it would have to suffice -- nor was there any sign of a Mantle about his person.

Noticing that everyone else seemed to be bowing to the guy on the Throne he followed suit and started to make his way over to the bar. As he passed people he gave them a smile and a nod. Maybe I can find a cute girl to talk to or something.
