Stone's gorgeous car zooms along 50 heading West. Why the hell were they sending him to be some kind of package boy?

"Someone of his special talents" that narrowed down the options. Fate or Spirit related

Cursed or a Blessed Item? Spirit Fetish? So long as "package" doesnt end up meaning Person...

He was talking outloud to himself.

Finally checking the address on the GPS system he arrived. He pulled the 9mm from under his seat and checked it, putting inside his jacket. He'd already placed his standard shields up for the day. He looked at the address.

Fucking great. The address written on the paper is 30472, but there is no building with that address. There's a 30474 and a 30470 and a narrow alley in between.

He grumbled outloud.

Great.... Fucking Harry Potter Address style bullshit...

He let his Second Sight and Sybil's Sight rise up and continued to look over the alleyway for a few moments longer trying to pick up anything he could before walking down alleyway..

At first, the alley looks as if it is thick with spiritual resonances. But as Stone looks closer, and closer still, it changes.

The resonance of the alley is fake, a sham cobbled together from wisps of ephemera. And the final veil parts, like a huge mental blind spot that just shifted out of the way.

A man sits casually on a stoop in the alley, hands crossed in his lap. Looking straight at Stone. Waiting patiently.

The man's wearing one of those ugly red speed-suits with the stripe down the side.

He hears another vehicle pulling up towards him.

Are you my contact?

He shifted to the side so he could see back towards the street, as he heard another car. His angle wasnt the best from the direction of its approach.

"Ah, so you can see me then?" The sitting man seems amused. "Well that's either going to make this a whole lot easier, or a whole lot harder. Depending on you."

A beat up plumber's van pulls up in front of the alley, and four more men dressed in work clothes slip out. All of them are focused on you.

"All we have are a couple of things we need to ask you Mr Thorn. And when we're done, you can go right on your way. Come on inside."

The man stands and turns towards the alley's only doorway.

Note: it's fair to say that your unseen senses are going off strongly right about now.

Friends of yours? or are you having some serious drainage problems? Cause I dont know it habit for plumbers to travel in packs...

He moved with the man, Trying to make note of the men's faces quickly to memory.

Your hosts usher you through a dimly lit hall and into a tiny room empty aside from a single steel chair.

The men behind you whisper and laugh amongst themselves as you go.

Resolve+Composure not to start losing your nerve.

"So, before we get started do you want anything? Coffee? Cigarette?" Asks the man in red.

"Please, feel free to sit down," another says.

Stone eyes the chair.

Glancing back at the group behind him, he narrowed his eyes.

7,7,6,3,6, 6,7,6,3,10, 8

You'll excuse me if I stand, based on the looks of the situation and how it looks more like a tortue session about to begin rather than a package pickup....

He looked back to the man in red.

No thank you on the drink... Cant say based on the scenery I'd trust anything edible either...

Looks like Stone spooks several of the men. He's not one to be intimidated.

The man in red laughs and motions to the others. All but one step outside, and the door is shut.

"I don't blame you buddy." He exchanges a look with the other man in the room. "I wouldn't trust us either in your position."

It would appear you have me a major disadvantage Sir. You appear to know who I am. I on the other hand dont know who you are... I was TOLD.. I was here for a package pickup. Obviously that much is not true. Rather than have the place get messy or we stare slinging spells. Lets talk about this like civilized adults. You said you had questions for me...Do I get the advantage of asking in return of is this a one sided interrigation session?

"Now that's the attitude I like to hear. I'm afraid that this one's gonna be pretty one sided, but cheer up we'll give you some freebies. Listen, here's how it's going to go. That guy in the corner's the bad cop, his name is Temugin. I'm the good cop, my name's Ivan."

Seeing that you don't take the chair, Ivan slides it back and takes the seat.

"So, Stone. You like comedy?"

-A tightly forced laugh- "I heard it was a great show. One funny thing though, a little bird told me that something strange happened right at the end. It got our attention you see."

Ivan leans in.

"Normally hey, not a problem. It's all in good fun, right? But then that same little bird got a better look at your friends. Three women and three men between the club and Avalon. Two of them we know, good guys. But funny, I don't know the other people. And I know a lot of people. There didn't happen to be anything, different about some of the men and women you met last night was there?"

As I said I meet some locals. Couldnt tell you much. If I say No... We all know thats a lie otherwise I wouldnt be here. So we'll keep the bad cop at bay another round. I didnt bring any doughnuts anyways...

He shot the other man a smirk before turning his attention back to Ivan.

one mage apparently here on Arrow business like myself. Thats the meeting I was going to that this "package pickup" was for. If he's not a local I wouldnt know

"OK. Let me tell you what I know. Sitting with you, last night, there was one blood-sucker, two goblin broads, and a witch that nobody seems to recognize."

"And then there you and this other guy are, an Arrow right? Thick as thieves, just hanging out. We just want to know what you were talking about friend. That's all."

ST note:
Stone should not know anything about Vampire hierarchy. Reference removed.

Goblin broad?... rather rude...even for a Guardian..

New in the city and I run into a another Arrow. We're both here on Arrow business investigating things around the city. Same as everyone else. The "witch" is green, doesnt know a thing about the orders. Your welcome to try and recruit her just know I'm going to be letting the Arrows know of her as well. Let the best Order win.

The suck head I didnt like around but he seemed mostly harmless. I perfered to not do messing with the local undead until I know the lay of the land. I dont need to be offing a vampire. Have enough trouble with you all let alone a pack of corpses. Was more keeping him off the girls more than anything else. He seemed to develop an annoying interest in the other Arrow after the little mic "incident" at the club. He got tired and eventually left.

He leaned against the wall.

As I said I havent even gotten to my first Arrow meeting here in the city...and I'm sure I'll get chewed out for being late for this little delay.

"OK, now we're getting somewhere." Ivan grins, almost convincingly.

"Hey Temmie, fetch me a cola will you? Stone, you want a cola?"

Stone doesn't seem to want a cola.

"So you know what happened in this town, right? All of US vanished. You know that?"

Yeah thats the skinny ...Why I'm up here from San Diego. Investigation. Its what I do. What I did in San Fran with the Gilgamesh Society. What we all did. Dont know about you all here, but we kept a watch on all the other "interesting" folk that roam the streets. It was important to maintain contact not avoid it like the plague.

He shook his head at the soda being mentioned.

Do you mind if I atleast let my people know whats going on and why I'm late. Show of good faith that we're remaining civil?

"Sorry bud. Can't let you go just yet. Hope you understand."

"Now do you know what the weirdest thing about what happened in this town was Stone?"

"The weirdest thing is that WE all vanished, but those things, they're still here. And nobody knows why yet. Did it ever occur to you Stone, that somebody killed off our people on purpose?"

I got the run down... Thats a no brainer...

He shook his head.

The question isnt if someone killed off the mages. Its who. Other mages? Banishers? Seers? someone that manged to get ahold of something they shouldnt and it went wrong. Or if it was planned. Other options include the other "powers that be" that are in the city. More reason to get in their good graces. If they did it once with the sudden surge of mages back into the city they'll probably want to do it again.

He looked at both of them.

Obviously if the Fae, Wolves or anything else in the city had bad blood with the Mages they should be looked into further.

He quirked a brow

DID anything in the city have bad blood with the Orders?

ST note:
Temugin is no longer in the room. It's a long way to the cola machine.

"You tell me Stone. You were the one talking right? All we want to know is what you know. I've heard about your work with the Gilgamesh, I know that you're a stand-up sort of guy."

"And I know that you want to help us figure this out. Am I wrong?"

I'm an Arrow, your a Guardian. Obviously our methods arent going to mesh real well... We all agree on the ultimate goal here though. Find out what went down, make sure it doesnt happen again and stick whoever was behind it's head on a pigpole. If I wanted trouble I'd be making sure the bad cop was having his rounds.

He motioned a thumb at the door where Temugin left.

You want information about San Fran I can give you more. I just got into the city yesterday I haven't even started doing what I do best yet. You want my help we take this through the proper channels. I'm sure this muscle session wasnt approved by my people. I've discovered things tend to work better when the Orders actually work jointly rather than trying to constantly backstab and one up each others... Tends to get people killed un-needed ... Right now since the last group of mages that lived here are all dead I'd certainly say its un-needed right now.

He trailed off for a moment with the last statment.

Ivan doesn't like that last little veiled threat one bit.

"Friend I don't think you realize this yet, but this is the closest that you are going to get to a proper channel. I know you think you're slick, covering for your buddies and all, but right now stalling isn't helping you, and it isn't helping them."

"Now these people are either a threat, or we can trust them. Either way, we'd like very much to know."

A sound in the hall indicates that Temugin is on his way back in.

"Convince me we don't have to be worried Stone. Convince me for their sake, and yours. Because I want to believe you."
