Since the moon phase is so important in werewolf, we will be using the real world calender and following the moon phases.
From 2 days before to two days after the day of the new moon, it is the 'new moon' phase
The following three days are crescent moon
the following three days are half moon
the following three days are gibbous moon
the following 5 days are full moon (with the day of the full moon being the third day)
the following 3 days are gibbous moon
the following three days are half moon
the following three days are crescent moon
and then we are back to 2 days before the day of the new moon.
The day the scene starts is the reference day for the moon, regardless of how long the scene goes on.
Remember werewolves, you can gain one essence by looking up into the sky and seeing your moon phase. (or where the moon should be on a cloudy night). You also get extra turns in garou form, with the number of turns equal to your auspice renown.
