Tuesday, October 14 at approximatly 10:30 PM, Mark Taggard was hit by a semi coming out of the patking lot of club Ember. Police are still investigating, but we've been told all the evidence is pointing toward suicide.
The driver of the semi, Mr. James Chesser, claims Mark Taggard shot out into traffic just as the semi was closing in.
"One minute the guy was just sitting at the exit and the next minute he was under my truck." James tells police. "I didn't even have time to realize what he was doing."
Mr. Chesser was waiting at the scene when police arrived at around 11:00 pm. Right now, all evidence is supporting the police's suidcide theory, however they have assured us they will comtinue to investigate until they are positive Mr. Taggard took his own life.
This is a terrible tragedy and our prayers and sympathies go out to the Taggard family.

Our next top story takes place in the same area. It would seem downtown has just been a buzz of activity this week. This morning, club Avalon was closed due to a failed health inspection.
A customer came in last night, ordered a chef's salad and found a roach in his meal! He immediatly informed Avalon's waiting staff and manager. When the staff did not attend to the customer to his satisfaction, he called the Health Inspection Bureau and demanded an immediate investigation.
The customer in question has refused any interviews and will not give his name. He has requested to remain anonnymus. We do know from Avalon's management that the club will be closed for a mandatory twelve days and may even have to stay closed until December 1.
The good news for club goers is that a new club opened last night. The club is called Asylum and although it has been around for a while, it is now under new ownership. The club is advertising a gothic fetish theme. Our own Walter Masters was there for the reopening and he says the place is a hit!
