"Fifty odd years really changes a place" Zachary thought to himself as he strolled the streets of the bustling downtown rack. He recalled the many favors that his friend Iskander had done for him, and how he had the Libertenarius to thank for his ability to tell the differences in scenery after so long a time. It hadn't hurt matters that he and Alexa had held on to his memoirs for him so diligently for all of these years. But of course they would, they were true servants to the Ordo...truly dedicated to the Great Work. Gods bless the confessors, and gods bless the Dying Light and their most dutiful of members.
It would be no small task to locate the Academy in all of this mess...hell, he wasn't even sure if there were any other Ebon Sworn in this city, and in some small corner of his mind...he almost wished that there would not be. The thought brought a slight smirk to his face. How long would he wander the city waiting for the race of his beasts pulse to flare at the presence of another predator? And would that predator be a Scourge...hungry to exercise his professional duties? This was always the most tenuous moment for Zachary, but he was driven on by his Work. As a Navigator Zachary had seen many portents and he could not deny the one which led him here to this place. The Serpent which he had chased for so long had led him here. Would his journey finally end...for better or for worse?
