Venessa looked up from her mound of paperwork when Joe walked in.
"Have a good vacation? Hope it was better then the mountain of paperwork crap desk job I've had for the past week. How did you get off so easy?" She grumbles, as she stamps another sheet of paper and then signs her name, to place in the rather large stack on the corner of the desk.
"Damn Doctor wanted to put me on anti-depresents. Do you believe that shit? Cause of course, no other officer in this God forsaken hell hole has ever had a strange experience." She glances blackly at the other three officers sitting at their desks babbling about racing.

Venessa makes a face and starts digging through the papers on her desk until she finds a folder.
"Yeah, here it is. They found fingerprints from all the victums, and DNA, but not from the perp. Sorry hon." She says with a frown as she hands over the file.
"Looks like we found the guy........and lost him."

Venessa flips through the papers in the file and looks confused. "Well, the vic's fingerprints and DNA are all over this place. Hell, they even found several hair samples. One from the murders 30 years ago. So, it was definitly the place. But, nothing on the perp. It's like the guy was a ghost. No name, no prints, no DN-wait a second."
She stops talking for a minute and reads something slowly and carefully. "I was wrong. They did find something, a hair from the perp, but the DNA doesn't match anyone in the system, any system. And they found a bunch of stuff with the name Gabriel on it. But that's it. It's like this guy doesn't even exist."

Joe sighs "You don't know the half of it. The person that owned the place, Kisten Maze. Doesn't exist anywhere else except on the deed. Ghosts chilling with ghosts. I wish they'd just have left the rest of us alone. Next step is to set up wanted posters, make sure his face is memorable to all the barkeeps."
"Keep that hair sample, and get that DNA profile in triplicate. See if we can't put it in the system so it'll pop somewhere else if someone else bags him. What sort of stuff had Gabriel on it?"

Venessa looks at the list of items. "Looks like most of the stuff with the name on it is jewelry, and that all depends on what stupid thing it is you are planning on doing. It's bad enough your report landed me in a shrink's office for over a week. Not that I didn't back up your statement in my report, but still."
She puts the folder down and looks at him intently.

While waiting on Jamie Jody decides to make her way down to homicide to see if they have found out anything to do with Billy and what happened at Raven.
Jody tentatively makes her way through the door to homicide and walks slowly up to Vanessa "Hey Vanessa I was just stopping by to see if you had come up with anything on Billy the guy that was taken to the morgue from Raven the other night?" Jody tried to keep her question professional but anyone could tell she was still a bit upset at the subject and the anger seemed to flare in her eyes when she thought about that night.

Venessa pulls out a pad of paper and turns to Jody. "His name is Billy?" She asks, writing it down on the pad. "Excellent, we couldn't find an ID on him at all and no one else seems to know this guy. What else can you tell me about him?"
She turns to Joe and holds up her hand as if to keep him from going anywhere. "Don't you go walking out that door yet, Detective O'Connel. Not until I am ready."
Then, her attention goes back to Jody, waiting expectantly for an answer.

Jody thought back for a second to the interactions she had with thin and looked back at Vanessa a little taken back that they didn't even know his name "Umm... well he told me he was from Texas and that he came into town after he got a job as a motorcycle mechanic somewhere in town."

"Hey Jody, uh Joe and I have some stuff we need to do, but first I need to stop at the store. Would you care to come with me? I can fill you in on the way."
She grabbed her purse and badge as she talked and motioned Jody to the door, meanwhile giving Joe a discreet nod to let him know she was following his request.
