 Some race car driver I am

So, a funny thing happened to me on the way into work...
I usually cruise my little MR2 (which is just a place-holder for my Ferrari that I "will" have someday) at about 90mph down this one stretch of freeway, but it was pouring today so I slowed it down to a mind-numbing 75mph. Mostly because it kept hydroplaning and there was a lot of traffic around me.
But I got out of that slick area and increased my speed, to, oh, maybe 85mph and sure enough, hit one more flooded area. The back end snapped out (its a rear-engine car) and I spun it across the freeway and it flew off and over a cliff/embankment and landed in a ditch (rubber down). Geez, that was such a rush!!!!
A bunch of people stopped, so I had to actually get out of my car, which was sideways up the embankment, so I could wave to them on top of the hill and let them know I was OK (so they wouldn't call an ambulance or something lame like that!!). And then this totally cool guy came down and helped me get the car out of the mud and back on the freeway. It was quite a day!!
The guys at work just laughed at me and told me it served me right for running track tires on the road. But my husband told me if I had "just" put some acceleration into it when I started to spin, I could have probably saved it. This was funny coming from the guy that just crashed his Formula 2000 on the track a month ago and it remains in the shop in a crumpled mess. LOL
So, it looks like you guys might be stuck with me for a bit longer as I perfect my skills for my race car driving career!! ha!

You have got to be kidding me.....I did that once in a car it was pouring and I was going over the causway....Saw a friend walking in the rain, antoher friend and I were like was that...and it was so at the first cut through I yanked the car into it and just kept spinning and yanked the wheel the other way and applied the break, ended up pointed in the right direction with no one around and just hit the gas like nothing happened the guy in the car with me was like HOLY HADES did we just...and I was like yeap lets go....

Dred: turns out you should be doing a test drive for the Ferrari F1 team before "I" should. Just knock that off, you're making me mad. ;-P
West: Ummm... no sequential, but my husband's second car is a really fabulous 93 turbo MR2 that's so after-market, our mechanic drove it once, handed the keys back to him and said "Yah, that's scary fast." He doesn't let me drive that one very often. I think we all know why now...

Seriously? I bet you'd drive better than most people out there. You'd drive with a sense for driving. They drive with no sense at all. LOL
I just got the great news; I get to drive the turbo MR2 while mine is in the shop... I think everyone is very nervous about this. Mostly because I "am" insane... Bwa ha ha ha
Stay off the sidewalks if you're coming to Southern California this week! ::grin::
