Unlike the last time the Hound saw me:
I'm actually dressed like a Hound. Or better...the way I'd dressed when I was the Blood-Hound of Toronto, or when I was the Archon of Las Vegas. This is a job that I'm good at, and most people appreciated when you dressed for the job.
Who knew? I might need to actually kick something's ass tonight.
There are people standing in front of the warehouse and they're all dressed alike. Screams either 'gang' or 'organized crime' or 'legal business'. Funny, how those things are often very much the same.
I knew the psychology behind it, if only because the Doc's Dragon Boy-Toy was a shrink, and I'd gotten an earful from her about 'conformity'. I'd just shrugged it off and gone back to what I was doing.
Making Lacrima.
I just pretend to ignore them. At best, they're vampires and one of them will stop me and ask who the fuck I am. At worst? They're Thralls or just mortal hanger's-on.
In which case, I've been asked to come here.
Fuck 'em.
Knocking or looking for a buzzer, I stand at the door and wait for whomever will answer. Or for one of those guys near the door to ask who the fuck I am.
They called me "The Chameleon" in Toronto.
Time to start playing the part.

I give the guy a 'thank you' type of wave, though it's not as if he has to raise the door very far. I'm not tall. In fact, I'm downright short compared to most men.
Asian genes and all that.
He's on the phone, and I'm polite enough to wait for him to finally get finished with his phone call. I know I'm breathing, taking in the scents of the place. It's not something I can help anymore.
I can find anything with my eyes closed now. My sense of scent is better than my sense of sight.
When the phone is flipped closed, I offer a nod, posture perfect. Invictus, 'born' and 'bred'.
And then I go back to how I was. That half-cocked stance and half-arrogant grin. Some might call it endearing. Some might be annoyed by it.
Others knew it for what it was.
Posturing. Nothing more. Nothing less.
"Good evenin', Mister Davis."
