Fiddler gave a re-assuring chuckle, "that is the question, I guess, isn't it?" before continuing, "and yes, I am 'Fiddler'," gesturing with his hands the act as he spoke the name.
"I take it you don't listen too much to this type of music?" he asked with a grin, "that's cool. It's not something everyone enjoys."

"Oh, I enjoyed it. I really did. I just don't go out all that much. When I'm not working I'm either at school, at the gym or, you know, studying. There isn't really a great deal of time left over for me to enjoy parties and stuff." He absently twists the wedding band on his left hand with his right hand as he looks around to make sure there aren't any Sleepers in earshot. "I'm actually glad Alice brought me to this one though. She's not shy about looking ahead when something interests her, and she said I'd meet someone important here. She wouldn't tell me anything else about it, and I've been nervy all night."

Fiddler was pleased to here this, after all, maybe Alice had seen this conversation already come to fruition, and was simply waiting for it to occur.
"Funny you should say that. I like this place. Good people, good music, good bars... good place to stay. I've decided to help the Ladder re-establish here, only problem is I don't have a cabal, and that could lead to me being a little too vulnerable." He paused, taking a drag, "I was just talking to Blackfire, and he was interested in forming one if we could find one more mage. Interested?"
Fiddler concluded and waited for a response, wondering in his mind if the answer had already been pre-determined.

Invictus looked over Fiddler's shoulder, looking for Alice. When he spotted her, she was smiling and she flashed him a thumbs up sign.
"Sometimes that woman aggravates me so much. Yeah, there have been a bunch of Banishers running around. So far I've been pretty safe on my own, but I've be under some pressure," He looks at Alice again from across the room while she just raises an eyebrow at him, "to get more involved in that part of my life." Invictus crosses his arms and looks Fiddler up and down, like he's trying to come to some kind of decision with a great deal of care. "Alright, this is a major decision. I have certain responsibilities that I have to keep in mind, and I couldn't participate in good conscience if I did not explain them. If you could bring Blackfire over here, I'd like to talk about them with you two. After that we can decide if it would be appropriate for the three of us to work together."

Invictus raises his eyebrows in mild surprise mixed with a little disbelief. He was a Moros, and he lacked Alice's implicit trust in Fate. He smiles though, and extends his hand to Blackfire. "We were just talking about new Cabals. Fiddler here ," Invictus nods his head at Fiddler, mentioned that you were interested in forming a Cabal with some of the Locals. I've been looking to branch out into our line of work, and I'm interested. I have some responsibilities though, and they can be sticking points for some people."
Invictus sets his face into a serious one and he looks both of them in the eyes before continuing. "I've been in Prison. I'm on Parole now, I've got about another year and a half of it before I'm done. This means there are some things that I can't do. I can't get involved in Drugs or Weapons, or pretty much any kind illegal activity. I can't leave the County except with permission from my Parole Officer. Another requirement is that I have to maintain a day job, which I already have and I plan on keeping. Now Alice, we were introduced together, she isn't just my mentor, she's also happens to be my parole officer. She's pretty lenient when it comes to some things, but It's my job to complete my Parole. I take that kind of thing seriously. I'm also taking some classes at the local college at night, so I'm not free all the time. Assuming these aren't deal breakers, I'm willing to work together.

Fiddler relaxed his grin and flicked the rest of his cigarette off the balcony.
"Hey, I've got no problem if you have responsibilities and rules you need to follow... but... if you don't mind me asking, why were you in prison?"
He paused and hoped this wouldn't be a point of contention before adding, "because if we're gonna watch each other's backs... I'd prefer to know..."

Invictus thought about how much he should tell them. "I pled guilty to Aggravated Assault." He took his drink and knocked it back, bubbles be dammed. "Some people took something from someone important to me, and I got it back. I was sentenced to six years in San Quentin, I spent four there before being released early 'cause of good behavior." While that was true, Invictus privately believed that it was more because of overcrowding.

Fiddler also took this opurtunity to finish his glass. "Thanks for telling us. To be honest, that just sounds like it'll be better for you to be on my side..." he said while taking on a devilish grin.

Invictus shrugs and checks again to make sure there aren't any Sleepers within earshot. "Well, the two of you could start with telling me a little bit about yourselves, or we could figure out what we can do as a Cabal. From that we could figure out what kind of themes we could take on. For example, at the moment I'm a Disciple of Death and Matter, and an initate of Space."
