Matthew approaches the comedy club. It has been a long day, and he needs to relax. As he enters, he looks around and, spotting Taylor, he walks over to him.
"Hi, Taylor, I thought I'd drop by." Then he notices that Taylor isn't alone. "Who's this?"

Matthew jumps in. "And that's not even the entirety of our problems. We haven't found any loci yet, so the spirit issues are basically on hold until we find one. We're planning to search the three graveyards on the south edge of our territory tomorrow evening."
At this point, a growl of annoyance begins to seep into his tone. "And it seems that the Justicar alpha let Taylor know that they might be making a land grab at some point. Perhaps they're under the impression that the Pure aren't a serious enough threat."

What do I want out of this group? I always envied Xavier for leading his pack with such skill, approaching problems even handedly.
"I want to make this place safe for my future offspring to grow up without fear from the dark. I want to be able to walk the streets of the city and not be worried if some punk from the next territory is going to jump me. I want to do these things with people I can trust."

Wow, I thought we were going to have trouble coming up with a name. "Shadow, I like it. Maybe something like Shadow Seekers?
Perhaps my question would be better used as a mixer, then. I would like the pack to be like a family. Maybe it can replace the one the Pure took from me." Matthew's voice shakes as he utters the last four words, but he manages to avoid choking up --- barely. "And I would hope that maybe we can protect others from through the pain that I went through."

Jacob glances at Matthew and nods. He holds back the memories of LA, the betrayal and the loss of his friends. A sharp spiritual pain ebbs in his soul like a dark bruise. He shakes his head.
"Amen to that. I will do what we must to hold and protect our territory - even if we have to meet the challenge of other Uratha packs."
His upper lip curls and his eyes flash hatred.
"But what I really want is to taste the blood of the Pure and see their heads rotting in the trash."
He composes himself. Brushes his hand through his hair and smiles.
"Sorry about that."
