hello everyone,
I found my way here from the mage forums on WW's website. I'm very interested in playing, but I'm kinda new to the whole play by post style.
I've read some of the material here and I will submit a "beginner" sometime soon, but I'd like to establish him in a cabal. anyone interested in a new cabalmate?

though not always the case, Cabals are usually strongly affiliated with an order (arrows, ladder, guardians, etc)....Let us know your order affiliation, or if you are an apostate. You will probably get a better response, and a good way for someone to write you in to their cabal.

Hit the nail on the head Kai.
If you look down on the forum, there's a section for Mage specific info.
Check the Cabal (IC) Subsection and you can read about the active cabals.
The most active cabal is the celestial hoarders of the mysterium right now, but maybe we can branch out a little bit with a few of the newer people?

ok, cool.
well, I usually have a lot of character ideas, and I make one based on my group, but the idea I've been toying with lately is a ladder mage who is an EMT and either a mastigos or thrysus.

ok, a ladder mage definately sounds about right now, and popularity of something usually makes me cringe at playing it (thanks for the tip dreadloke, lol) so I'm definately seeing a mastigos at this point.
I took another look at the silver ladder book, and the bene ashmedai legacy caught my eye. I think I'm gonna tweak my character to eventually join the legacy (i.e. not start off in it) so how hard would it be to join a legacy in game? if its a hassle, it wouldn't phase me to ignore the idea, but I would like to know.
anyway, Benjamin and Nightroad, once I get my character sheet going, interested in forming a cabal? I've an open mind to themes and such, as well as sharing merits (sanctum, library, whatnot).

Sure, the guy I'm working on would be a native Sacramentonian, unless you want to move into the city from somewhere else already knowing each other.

Blackfire already has a pretty good sanctum but if we cabal up you guys are more then welcome to add to it.

For note, if you intend to create a character who is native to Sacramento, it's likely not appropriate for them to be mainstream (160xp) characters due to the history of the place.
It would be great if as you have ideas you pass them by me so I can have a preliminary idea of where to place you in the chronicle.

alright fellas, I'm pretty much done. for the sanctum, I'll be adding 2 dots of library, and 1 in security (if that isn't possible or whatever I can reorganize. I've read through all the resources on the site and I haven't found any opposition to it.). One of the dots for library I have not defined, is there something either of you would like as a subject (the first one is demonology)?
lastly, do we have any ideas for a cabal name/theme? I'm open to ideas.
my character is a violinist, interested in demons/vices and the use of music to inspire sleepers about realms supernal.

We could go the simple route and base it on the Elements - Nightroad's Blackfire can stand in for Fire, My Moros stands in for Earth, and Organiker's mastigos could stand in for Air, maybe? I'm just guessing when it comes to the mastigos, but from the tiny bit I know about him/her it might not be to tight a fit.

my character could easily be air: intelligence, music, mind magics, and he already uses a wand.
sometimes the simplest answers are the best.
