Hi everyone, just wanted to get your input on this.
How do you feel in terms of your comfort level so far in the game? An issue was raised to me in terms of language use, so I figured I'd bring it up.
I just want you to know that I try to choose my language according to the state of mind of the characters in the scene, and the way I would expect my NPCs to behave as people.
But it would be just as easy to limit foul language if people were to feel it necessary. Really, it's up to you.

Umm F*ck sake I am 37 and spent 10 years in the Navy. Golly gosh them sailors can swear.
I have no issue here I believe everyone here is over 18 yes?
With the gambit of players and npcs it is almost silly to think some characters would not be vulgar.
I want to learn to cuss in atlantean! Is that a 1 or 2 dot merit?

o_O Have to say this one caught me off guard. Not going to ask for names. None of my business, but I'm curious as to the concern over language. Slurs against races/sexual orientation would be one thing. I thought we were all mature adults. Note that isnt a cutting or sarcastic remark. its an honest statment. I dont think anyone is droping the F-bomb for the hell..ur? heck? of it.... language is a part of everyday use and there are some people that try to avoid it because its not proper there are others that dont know words over 4 letters and swear worse than a sailor. I think if its appropriate for the scene or he character at the time. I'd hate to think if I wanted to make some ghetto character that trashtalked all the time someone would flip out because the f-word or the S-word seemed to fly a little more often.

Don't the site rules say you have to be over 16 or something?
I usually go with the story. Everyone here that knows me in RL will attest that I cuss a LOT more than my characters do

West already said what I was thinking....the age is 16 or better and if your on this odds are you know this is a Dark world and sometimes foul language comes out. I am no saint so to say something negative to this whole thing would do to me what I hate in others......so as long as the whole post is not explatives I am sure we can all handle it.....
So moderate yourself, if your offended then maybe somebody else will be to.....

Prior Military, Firefighter and work with police. I worked with contruction workers and bartended. There is little to none that can be said ot offend me. So if I say something vulgar that someone has issue with please let me know personally. I normally try to keep the racial/sex slurs out of the verbal arsenal for boards because I know those can be more offensive to some. Obviously if people on the boards are mature enough to handle those to that can be debated but I have no character ideas that are leaning that way so I doubt it should be an issue.

Wow, i didn't realize i'd come off as the prude. Oh well. I do cuss in real life, but with my soon to be getting job (Pediatrician) I am intentionally trying to cut my swearing. Bad for business (the Uck You was something that one of my professor's daughter's did after learning it "somewhere" She would also hold up her index finger while doing it (5 years). Adorable) So far though, I am comfertable with the level of swearing in the chronicle. My general rule of taste is no more than 3 swear words in a row. Gotta put an article or something between.

Granted, they are words that we as a society have deemed inappropriate for younger people to speak. Which is why I have placed the 16 or older rule for these forums.
I apologize if these words offend you, however, I am an adult, as are all of the people on this site. As an adult, I have the right to speak, write, or type these words if I so choose. You also have to right to choose not to read them. You may exercise that right and disregard this post.
However, my point is that these are WORDS, that is it. They are words we speak and hear every day (Ok some of us speak them every day, I do), if they offend you, then do not read them.
