 New Day, New Life, Same Routine

Blackfire woke up late in the day. Woke up in his new house in the city that should reap him some decent profits.
After two cups of coffee and a third shot of bourbon he was ready to greet the day.
I wonder were any of the head quarters are located....hell I didn't even check to see if any other Silver Ladders were in the city...........I could be in charge of the Silver Ladders here. Not bad.

The house had been a GODSEND. It had cost him no small sum but it was worth it.
Although Blackfire tried not to pay attention to politics when he could, he knew a good business deal when he saw one. Sacramento, the blank slate! A city slowly refilling with the Awakened; a community with demands, and no one to supply. A man could make a killing here.
He had tried at first to secure a Hallow from legitimate channels, but the Orders were furious at the idea of giving up a single one.
Turns out though that during the initial land grab the Ubiquitous Chancel, the resident Free Council Cabal, had picked up more than they could reasonably expect to staff and defend.
The Hallow was on the fringes of the city, out into the suburbs in fact, far out of the Chancel's territory. At the price Blackfire paid, they were glad to get rid of it.

It was a nice house and the mana it supplied him with could reasonably keep him in a style he could enjoy becomming accustomed to.
But he needed clients.

Blackfire had not yet gotten the lay of the land yet, and he didn't have any real Contacts in the city.
He sighed, he would have to find his customers the old fashioned way: Advertising.
Luckily, the Free Council Mage that Blackfire had negotiated for the purchase had been kind enough to give him some pointers. Ripcord (as she was called) had pointed out one of the closest meeting grounds which might interest him. A used bookstore just a little further into town, some Apostates tended to gather there in the evenings.
There were safe meeting spots around the city, marked by subtle magic or Order symbolism.
The bookstore is supposedly marked with a smattering of band flyers, which clearly display Atlantean Arcana symbols in their illustrations. Its ingenius name is "Rick's Used Books".

Blackfire was used to having to do things the hard way and to personally take care of his buisness.
He quickly made up some buisness cards, They his number and the atlantean rune for mana on them.
He drove to Rick's used books

Pulling into the small parking lot, Blackfire can't help but be a little disappointed. The bookstore looks small, and shoddy.
The flyers are there just as Ripcord told you they'd be, and a young couple lean against the brick side of the store. They smoke vigorously as they laugh. As you step out of the car, a stiff breeze picks up out of nowhere ripping at your coat.
This is new, you SMELL the presence of a lingering spell. That's never happened before. It's faint, maybe it's hanging over one of the two against the wall?
The young woman takes a deep drag of her cigarette and turns her eyes to you with an intense gaze.
Her companion loses his cigarette to the wind and curses.

You cross the grimy lot and just about reach the door when the woman speaks up.
"Hey buddy," she starts without looking at you directly. "Just a guess, but I figure whatever you think you'll find in there happens to be standing right here."
Her voice is small and a little high pitched, but rough from smoking. She turns to you and squints a little as she exhales.
"Call me Gwenivelle. What do they call you?"

The last dreg of her cigarette smoldering, Gwenivelle looks away bored.
-tap- -tap- goes her finger on the cigarette, and the thing reconstitutes itself.
Like watching it on rewind.
She brings it to her mouth to take another pull.

Gwenivelle looks genuinely eager to hear what you're selling. But Blackfire gets the sense they aren't talking about the same thing...
