Moving to a new city was one thing, but knowing that the structure of the new Sacramento Pentacle society was still chaotic put Ruby on edge.
Even more so now that Ruby has been approached by the first Mage (at least, she certainly hopes so!) since she arrived. His boldness at showing himself amongst Sleepers while on Pentacle business appeared to be a clear sign that the Guardians had not yet established their presence in the city, and Ruby can't help but fear that less discreet practitioners might press their luck in such an environment.
She wasn't about to excuse the methods of the Guardians, but she believed firmly in the virtue of their goal.
Keep mortals out of the way of Magick, and safeguard the dealings and secrets of the Orders from watchful eyes. If not for the sake of the Awakened, then for the very safety and wellbeing of the Sleepers themselves.
