It was late and Gus was done playing homicide for the day. He popped in his RX-7 and headed home. he would here about the crime in the morning.

Joe and Venessa arrive at the crime scene (Gus's absense is duly noted by Venessa who seems rather pissed about it).
They look upon a scene they have seen fives times before. Same MO, same jewelry found fifty feet from the body (an anklet), same thirty foot void around the body. The girl is in the same condition as all the others.
The officer on duty tells Joe the vic was found by a man walking his dog. Joe interviews the man and learns that he did not see anything unusual before finding the body.
The CSI's gather all the evidence they find and take it back to the lab.
Venessa and Joe leave after four long hours of the general crime scene routine. They do not get home until five AM.
Venessa calls in sick the next day.

Gus rolls into work on time and plops down at his desk. The blurry image was bugging him. It made no sense, it was irreconcilable. He began to search various tech forums and whatever he could find on the topic. He found a parts store that carried rotary engine parts, and a flash game called Mud and Blood 2. His lack of focus and the obscurity of the topic foiled his research.

Gus had a Subway sandwich for lunch. The Germans in Mud and Blood had over ran him one too many times this morning. Gus decided to look up customer service forums for cc security cameras.
He focused himself and avoid the onslaught of distracting pop up ads.

Well he either lacked the access needed or it just was not there. After an hour of honest investigation Gus had gotten no where.
