"I know what I am doing Martha, please believe that. I am not just jumping into something reckless you know. I've been taking care of myself for the last three years. I'll be fine." Ankh explained to her head of household and somewhat serrogate mother for the tenth time.
"Well," the woman said in a tight voice as she carried out her last suitcase, "I still don't think you running off with these strange people is a good idea, but I cannot stop you."
Ankh sighed and shook her head. "I understand, but it doesn't matter anyway. All of you need to go back home now and be happy. Just don't worry about me I'll be fine, my path is here. Your's is not."
Martha shook her head. "Wise words from one so young." She gave Ankh a hug and sighed. "Take care of yourself little one and know you can always come home to us if you need to." With that, she turned and left the house. She crawled into the cab with the other two women and waved as it pulled away.
Ankh watched them go until she couldn't see the cab anymore. Then, she put the last of her things in her car and left the house. She looked forward to her new home and those that resided in it. Hopfully she was right and this was the best thing to do.
