Azrael locked the door as West and Kai left to meet with the Arrows. The flight had been long and he was still feeling the fatigue of the jet lag. He had barely recoved from the flight into Baltimore before they'd turned right back around and went flying out here to California.
He made his way back to the bedrooms, leaning in the frame as Circe was unpacking one of the suitcases.
Need a hand?
Circe looked up and smiled.
No, I'm good. I just need to get some stuff out so I can atleast feel like I live here.
She shook her head to herself and sighed.
Hey look I know this sudden change of plans isnt anything, either of us planned on. Apparently they need us out here though. Hell... Based on the storm that went down in Baltimore that West mentioned on the plane, This should be a walk in the park.
Circe laid the pants down on the bed and walked over, leaning her head against his chest. He let an arm slide around her waist.
I'm just remembering how things started in Houston...How they ended. Old memories I guess, just getting antsy.
He kissed her forehead, smiling back at her.
How about you get the security system up and running?... your more the computer expert than I am. I can take care of the stuff in here.
She nodded and moved back around, tracing the back of her hand across his face. She turned back as she walked into the main room.
Did Kai or West say if they were bringing food back? I'm getting hungry

West and Kai had been gone for a little while. After getting the security system set up and feeling a bit more secure, Circe settled herself onto the couch. The Sanctum wasnt a perfectly centered location to the city, but it atleast allowed her the full range of her attainment's Celestial Telescope. A twelve mile radius certainly wasnt anything to sneeze at. She made herself comfy as she let her sight wander and started making herself a mental layout of the city.
Azrael in the meantime after storeing the clothes away was taking the time to check and clean the weapons they'd had shipped up from Houston. Several handguns layed out on the table in front of Azrael as he worked on cleaning one of them. Hopefully the others would be back shortly and they could get some sort of plan of action.

Kai and West returned, and looked around at the place.
"Well. Great job guys... uh... guy and gal. So we didn't just meet the local Arrows, we also had a brush with a Guardian," West says, and then proceeds to fill them in on all the details.
"So I guess we have a couple of leads, the resonance on the bridge, and the fires. We also know that we can expect the Guardians to be lurking around. What do ya'll think? Kai and I were talking about whether or not Vex knew she's carrying baggage." West stretched out on a chair.
"One thing, I think I feel strongly about, is that we need to stick together on this one. Something tells me that splitting into pairs is going to be risky."

Today and into the night we should prepare our spells, order some chinese food, and start out tomorrow. I was thinking we might be able to let our guard down and relax for a while, but I was wrong. So far, I don't trust the cabal we met, and I certainly don't trust the guardian we met. So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go start preparing spells.

Azrael leaned down and blew in Circe's ear to get her attention as she was still focused out in her GPS mode.
Huh? oh sorry...getting a layout of the surround blocks...And the chinese place is the closest...
She smirked at looked over at West, giving him a wink.
Azrael walked back over, and started to reassemble the last gun he had been cleaning.
I didnt expect any time to relax, as much as it would have been nice. So what do you want to hit first? The bridge?
He snapped the clip back into the gun happy with the cleaning job.
I'll cover dinner tonight...

West gets up, with a slightly disgusted look on his face.
"Words fail me," he says, walking out. "I'll be doing some Rituals also, but I'll be available if anything comes up. That doesn't include Chinese delivery."

Circe heard Kai's voice echo in the back of her head as she pulled back her sight from the Tower Bridge.
She blinked and yawned slightly as she readjusted herself to being back in room.
Well the bridge has been quiet most the night. Atleast nothing along the lines of mage activity. Obviously that can change but as for right now I dont think we'll get much out of that.
Azrael walked back into the room with a couple cups of coffee and handed one over to Kai. He kissed Circe as he handed another one to her and sat down on the couch. West would have one waiting for him as well.
So the bridge is coming up blank, so much for the easy location check. We have anywhere else to prode around before we start shaking down people for information directly?

West comes out to the common area in jeans and a T-shirt. "Whatever we're doing, it needs to involve shopping. I've got two more sets of clothes before I have to learn how to use the washing machine. Thanks," he says, spying the coffee.
"Here's what I was thinking. Let's stay here for a bit, and I'll Postcog the Resonance at the bridge. You two guys do some research on the missing persons/murders. In about an hour we should have a lot more to go on. Circe, if you could do some research on the computer and print out some photos of city locations we might want to have handy, that would be great, since three of us are versed in Space. What do y'all think?"

Checking out the bridge earlier there's a Westfield Shopping Plaza close by. That should help you with your clothing issues. I'm already ahead of you on the mapping too. I started on that while you guys were out getting the run down from the locals. I figured the main securty system was a little higher priority so once I get the printer hooked up and can start busting out that stuff for ya.
Circe grined brightly, sipping her coffee.
Azrael looked over at Kai.
Guess its you and me then cracking skulls this morning.

Kai chuckled..."Yeah, it's been a week or two since I've had to do that, getting a little antsy, but give me one more second here. I've got one more spell I want to cast"
Kai turns on the TV, the radio, and scatters the newspaper on the living room floor then begins chanting in what sounds to be a monk-like chant in high speech.

West thought about cracking a joke about taking Azrael's girl out for lunch and shopping, but stopped himself. He knew that this had to be fairly stressful for them, and were doing a good job of adjusting.
They're not like Kai and I, they're used to having homes, routines...
"Ok, guys, have fun. Try to remember this is a recon mission and not a preemptive one," he said, joking, but gave them a look to know he was serious. "Good work Circe," he said, "I knew you'd be a great J4."
Setting his cup down, in his usual practical manner, West begins casting without bothering to get up. First, he dropped his Misdirection and wove threads of Time and Space to create a Shield of Chronos and Spatial Awareness.

He shrugged and turned his attention to Kai and the outcome of the spell.

As Kai is scouring over the newspapers, he notes that in several of the papers, there is reference to a minor traffic accident that occurred last night on the Tower Bridges. No one was severely injured and most of the damage done was done to one of the lampposts in the median. The police are still baffled by how the accident occurred and the drivers are a bit mystified as well, saying that they just lost control due to a very powerful gust of wind of the river. The consistency of the report and it's repeated mention in all of the papers calls out to Kai distinctly.
Meanwhile, West is peering into the past of the same bridge. He distinctly sees Armadia's cabal, and can even see the moment of panic when the supposed resonance occurred...but he cannot see the resonance at all. To him, it appears that they all got startled by nothing at all.

West looks up. "Not sure about that. I just watched the scene Armadia and Dex described, and didn't see the Resonance at all. If we assume that Arrow standards aren't drastically low here, and Armadia and Dex are competent, that means we're looking at some pretty serious Veiling."
West stands up, draining his coffee cup. "On the other hand, that spell hasn't led you wrong before. You two better go on alone. Since Kai cast that first, us deciding to join you may tangle the threads."
He looks at Circe, "Shopping?"

Sounds like a plan. If you two keep at the Westfield center you'll be close by if we come across anything.
Azrael grabbed the keys to the car off the hook.
I can keep tabs on you guys too being so close...
Circe started for the door, then spun back around and ran over to her briefcase by the computer. She pulled out a Fodor's travel book for Sacramento.
Okay now we can go...
She pulled her purse over her shoulder and headed back towards the door.
Azrael poked at Circe playfully.
...And remember its shopping for West not you...
