 History of Sacramento's Kindred

Sacramento's kindred society was found by Invictus Prince Tobias Straiphen some fifty years ago.He organized the covenants into a rigid political structure and ruled them with an iron fist for nearly fifteen years.
In 1973 Prince Straiphen was overthrown by the Carthian Movement, Lancea Sanctum, and Ordo Dracul. These three covenants had suffered the most under Straiphen's tyrannical rule. They finally banded together to push him out of office. After Straiphen lost his seat of power, the Invictus seemed to crumble and became a mere shadow of it's former power base.
Unfortunately, the cooperation of the three covenants ended with Straiphen's reign. They could not come to an agreement on which one of them should have the Princedom. Thus, Sacramento was split into three separate territories and remained a contested city for the next twenty years. During this time most kindred either stood on the side of their covenant or attempted to stay under the radar. Open warfare was never declared, but city politics became a very dangerous game.
In September of 1993 a Nosferatu of the Unbound named Freddrick grew weary of the childish games and organized a small intelligence network. They sought out the dark secrets of the three contesting "Princes." In March of 1994 a meeting of the "Princes" was called by Freddrick. The four kindred were locked in a boardroom at the Sacramento Utilities Commission building for two nights. The building was owned by Freddrick and was guarded by his intelligence team during the entire meeting. In the course of those two nights three kindred were put into torpor, one met final death, and four others were critically injured in failed attempts to break into the boardroom.
When the four kindred emerged from the room, it was announced that Freddrick was now Prince and Alder Lord Kisten Maze would be his Senechaul. Since all three previously warring covenant heads seemed to agree with this decision, no other kindred were willing to cry foul. Thus Prince Freddrick's reign began.
Prince Freddrick continues to rule uncontested over Sacramento. The three remaining members of his intelligence team stand close by his side in full support of his office.
Although it is quite unusual (near unheard of) for an Unbound to hold a Princedom, the covenant heads claim that Sacramento has remained peaceful and prosperous since the start of his reign. He will continue to have their support until that peace is broken.
Currently there are no outward signs of rebellion among the covenants, but one never knows what could be brewing beneath the surface. No one locked in the boardroom for those two nights has ever spoken of what transpired there. When asked, they say they did what was best for the city and it's kindred.
City Laws
These are the Laws as dictated by our Prince, other then the three Traditions that are followed in all cities.
· The Masquerade is the Law and will be kept.
· Childer will not be sired without permission.
· The destruction of a Kindred's property will be met with grave consequences.
· Death to a Kindred by the hands of another Kindred is forbidden, unless it is by the hands of the Sharif or Hounds.
