"Well, this is it." Antoinette put the key in the door and did a quick maneuver to scoop up the snarling, snapping Zero, who she suspected had been stalking Neil their entire approach up the corridor. THAT was going to be a big problem.
"Relax, Big Boy, he's a friend." But no logical words would comfort the dog, and he argued and talked back to her:
*Can't you see you're letting a predator into your home? Let me down, NOW, and I will take care of the situation for you immediately!! *
She smiled apologetically at Neil and shushed the dog, telling him over and over again it was OK, Neil was her friend. Finally, though she hated to do it, Antoinette had to lock the dog in the office. She could hear him furiously scratching to get out, and hoped he didn't hurt himself, but what else could she do?
"Sorry about that." She smiled and took Neils hand, leading him to the couch. "You sit right here and relax, I'm going to go find some different clothes and be right back." On impulse she gave him a little kiss on the cheek, then took off for her bedroom and dove into her closet, throwing things everywhere. No, not this. No, not that. No, no way. No, no, no! How hard was it to pick something to wear? Christ. Well, it was critical... She didn't want to send the wrong message. But what was the "wrong" message? And, what was the "right" message. Antoinette Marie Coeur de Lion, get a hold of yourself before you have a complete melt down here.
In an absolute panic, she chose a pair of pair of tight, black sweats that road her hips so low, there was very little room left for the imagination. And a tight, black, cropped hoodie with a grey crucifix embroidered on it. Nothing else.
Then she made her way out to the living room. "I'm back." She gave him a warm smile and handed Neil the coat he had lent her. "Thank you very much for the coat. You really are a gentleman."
She curled up on the couch next to him, not knowing what to say or do, now that he was here. She was so nervous. What had happened to the bold little kick-ass Antoinette she used to be? Tilden was right, she had changed. The thing was, she knew the problem, she just couldn't fix it.
"So, what have you been doing with yourself while I've been gone? In fact, what have you been doing with yourself your whole life? How did you get to be, well, you know...?"

Smiling as Neil sees Antoinette handle the dog, he was impressed by the dogs spunk and had a feeling it could do some damage if she let it go so he made no move until she put the dog in the office.
As she sits him on the coach and goes to change he unties his tie, no sense in being formal at this point letting it drape around his neck he also unbuttoned the top button of his shirt wanting to look a little more casual. As she came out of her bedroom it took all his strength not to stare too much.
Taking his jacket back he smiles at the compliment and leans back on the coach as he hears her questions. "How did I become a vampire? Well I fear I am a spoiled rich kid and pretty much took everything for granted. I viewed life as a game, when my father died I was... lost and well that is when I met my sire. My father was trying to groom me to take over his spot so I assume he thought that my wealth and training made me a decent choice for a Ventrue." He gives her a sad smile "So here I am now not much of a story, how about yourself?"

Woah. The similarities were uncanny. "Neil, that is really weird. My parents died in a plane crash a couple years ago. I inherited a lot of money, and I sort of went through a pretty rough time. My Dad had really twisted my arm to attend business school so I could help him with his business, but I totally hated it. When they died, I dropped out and did nothing but partied. It was really bad. Then, I guess when I stopped feeling bad for myself, I decided to start Lash. It gave me something to focus on, besides myself, which pretty much saved my life. That sounds pretty corny huh? But it's true."
"Then, I don't know... I met Quinton in a club. I still went to clubs a lot at that point. He wasn't really the "party" type, but I think he watched me. We had sort of a strange relationship, it's hard to understand, and kind of hard to talk about. But I really needed someone, and he was there for me. He always made me feel so safe and cared about. Unfortunately for me, I just didn't realize it was more because he wanted to recruit me, and less because he really loved and cared about me." At least, this is what she could surmise. Antoinette dropped her eyes down. This sucked. No more of this.
"But hey, no turning back now, right? It's not a bad life, really. Young and pretty forever. Right." The words seemed a little hollow to her, but she hoped she sounded enthusiastic to him.

Neil sat there surprised at he story, the similarities were almost too much. Having more respect for her then she could realise he gives her a soft understanding smile cups her chin with his hand.
When she looks up his eyes meets hers "No, not a bad life... if you have someone to spend it with,

Where had this man come from? A few hours ago, they were having a drink in a bar. Now she thought she might be falling...
Antoinette stopped herself from even thinking it. Instead she leaned in and kissed Neil. It started out sweet and tender but grew in it's demanding and intensity.
She only stopped herself to say "Of course it's too close to sunrise for you to ever make it home safely. You're going to stay, right?"

Neil was thinking about kissing her when she did exactly that, matching her growing intensity. He smiles as she ask such a silly question "The only way I'd leave is if you asked me to." He held himself back from kissing her again to make sure she wasn't going to do just that.
