"I'd need to open a gateway to the shadow realm, and from there we would need to return to the park. The gateway lasts for an hour, but I doubt we can make it back before then. Assume you're entering unknown and potentially hostile territory and make preparations as you see fit. Not all spirits are friendly, and whoever set up the two stones may not have left them unguarded. Depending on what spirits are near here, we may also need to take precautions to keep them from using the gateway while it's active."

Directly inside the hallow, the only spirit around is that of the house, but its largely unconcerned with you guys. There are no other spirits of any concern.

Blackfire gives the people a short tour and then shows them down to his basement.

There is a large open space were Blackfire motions for Animus to cast the portal spell.

"If we are going against spirits I can jimmy together some simple blasting items that can injure spirits. You all will have to provide the mana and they won't last but a few hours."

Invictus knew next to bumpkis about spirits-of-things-Spirits, but he was on firmer ground when it came to spirits-of-dead-people-Spirits. "Vulgar is still Vulgar in the Shadow right? It isn't like the Astral?"

If any of you plan to cast any spells that aren't rituals, I suggest you wait until after the portal is opened. And, Blackfire, how long do you expect it to take to jimmy those items together?"

Fiddler directs his conversation to Animus, "I'm originally here on business- I'm a concert violinist and have picked up plenty of gigs here. the banisher problems are what's keeping me, though. I would be remiss if I didn't help out the ladder when it needed me." He paused before adding, "Hopefully the nine-link chain can stay strong. otherwise, if Cartwright can get murdered, we should all watch each other's backs real close."

Invictus doesn't know Animus all that well, and until he does he plans on playing his cards close to his chest.

Once he realizes that they are going to start talking politics, he excuses himself. "Well, I don't know about anyone else, but us Matter wizards need their tools. I'm going to get some things put together for the expedition while you get that gateway built."

With a triumphant cry Blackfire holds up two wands from behind the pile of boxes.

"Now we can party."

Blackfire heads to a side room in the basement and pulls his lighter out to use as his focus.

Fiddler puts out his hand to Blackfire, saying, "thanks man, hopefully won't need it but better safe than sorry."

Fiddler debated in his mind whether to push his spell tolerance by activating his mage sight, or to keep both his shields. The wand Blackfire had given him was beginning to weigh on him, but not too heavily. Not entirely sure about the Mind stone's possible effects, he decided to keep his mental shield in favor of sight. He cleared his mind and meditated, focusing on the rote Imago's he was now thoroughly familiar with.

(( Long ST note here:

1. Blackfire's Imbue pool is 10 die, not 11, unless I'm missing something.

2. Wands will do 7 die of Celestial fire, require the user to spend Mana per use, and require a base Paradox roll of 2 die per use.

3. Whoever carries the Wands add +1 to Spell Tolerance, please.

4. Please remember that Paradox rolls come BEFORE spellcasting rolls.

5. Spirit Road is Transitory. It remains open one turn. One person may pass through every turn. You need to add Duration Factors, or cast multiple times.
