Ishani wraps the earring back up and places them gently in the box. They were beautiful earrings and she did like them, but they were unwarranted.
She places a hand written note inside the box with the earings:
Lady Commissioner Whip Scotts,
While I deeply appreciate the gift, I am afraid I cannot accept it. You see, the covenent has not accepted me yet. If you truly do wish for me to take them I will, after I have been inducted.
