 No one ever expects a Spanish Inquisition (Ankh Only)

When Ankh wakes up, she has more than just a slight headache, though her senses have somewhat returned, and she notices she is very tightly bound, hands and ankles to a chair.
"Glad to have you back with us Ankh" Drew states bluntly "I really wish you would have been a little more cooperative, but that's ok...here we are."
Drew walks over to a table. "There are 4 important objects in this room. I am not one of them. My assistant is not one of them...and you my dear aren't one of them either." He points to a slightly glowing orb "This is one of them. It's tuned to me, and him" pointing at the guy standing in the corner. "What does this mean for me you ask? It means that should you try to cast a spell, it WILL counter it, and then send a rather painful shockwave your way."
He then points to a contract on the table "This is a contract you will agree to. More on that in a second." He then points to a pen on the same table "This is the pen you will sign it with." and then he points to a vial "and this is the vial that is imperative to that contract" He steps away from the table and sits down in a chair in front of you.
"Now, I bet you are wondering what that contract says. I'll give you the layman's terms. It says that you are going to pour that vial into food that your other two cabal mates will eat, or your entire lineage alive today, including you, will suffer a most painful and horrid death. Now, shall I hand you the pen now, or should we go about this the hard way?"

He looks down and shakes his head.
"If we must go this route then."
He unrolls a bag full of wooden dowel rods.
"Do you know whats interesting about physics? That everything craters, given enough force. Take this quarter inch dowel rod for instance. It probably doesn't have a high tolerance for things like this"
He takes the rod, and with a swift force it break across Ankh's thighs. The pain is immense. Even Ankh's strong will can't stop the tears from welling up in her eyes.
"Now, breaking is what you want it to do. Because if its broken, it means the force has been more than dissipated through the object, causing it to shatter. Kinda like baseball. The ball doesn't do to much when the bat breaks."
He goes an picks up a dowel rod that is much thicker.
"Are you sure this is the route you want to take?"

"You know what else will be really interesting? What one of my Cabal mates does to you when he finds you. See, he is a really nice easy going guy, until you piss him off. Then, he has this habit of ripping you apart. I haven't pissed him off yet. Are you sure you want to try it yourself?"

Drew slams the half inch dowel rod down on Ankh's thighs, once again shattering the rod. Ankh screams in pain.
"I promise you, and it's written in that contract, you can lead a normal mortal life. Full of life, full of success, and more importantly, full of love. Should you do this, your life will be exemplary amongst mortals. All you have to do is feed this vial to your two cabal mates. It's a simple request really"
He pulls out a dagger that was laying by the side of the table an unsheathes it, the puts it to your throat.
"Ankh, you are young. You have plenty of time to find everything you desire." The blade slices a little bit of skin. "Do you really want to go this route? Are you that confident that there is some reward beyond this for a skewed sense of honor?"

Ankh swallows, fear making her tremble. No, she did not want to die. She really didn't. But she also did not want to betray the only people who gave a shit about her.
"What makes you think I want to be a mere mortal "Drew"? What makes you think I would not rather be a powerful Mage? And what makes you think I even believe in an after life? Do you think I would do this for some reward?"
She considers her options, but she just cannot agree to anything without knowing why.
"Why? What did they do to you that you want to hurt them so much? And, if you hate them because of what they are, then why should I believe that you wiill spare my life?"

"All you have to do is agree. You go back to them, place this in a special breakfast or dinner, and then move on about your life. The fates have a way of making your life better once this contract has been signed. All you have to do is agree. How important can someone be to you when you've know them for such a short time?"
Drew looks at Ankh with sad eyes. "This isn't the life you would want anyway. Trust me. The pen is right here. All you have to do is sign."

Ankh laughs. She can't help it. The fear, the nerves, all of it combined into one large, hoarse chuckle. She feels the knife dig a little deeper into her neck and tries to stop.
Catching her breath, she looks at Drew with fire in her eyes. "Do you know where I would be if I wasn't like this, Drew? I would be dead. Got leukemia as a child. Becoming what I am meant I got to live. I'm already on borrowed time. What makes you think this threat will work? And how do you know how long I have known them? Did you follow them from where they came from Drew? Have you been hunting them this long?"

He takes the knife away from her throat, sheaths it, and then puts his hands around her throat with more than just a little force waits for her response. The intensity in his eyes growing, and all emotion leaving his face.

Ankh stares at him impassively. She had no problems with death, it was just another cycle of life. Even though she seriously doubted this idiot would have the conviction to back up his threats, she closed her eyes and made peace with herself anyway.
One could always be wrong about these things. The, she spoke.

He nods to the assistant who comes and unbinds the chains and cuff that hold Ankh.
"Well played Talon of the Arrows. I'm honored to be in your presence."
Drew bows to you deeply.
He then pulls a book out of a desk drawer.
"Should you choose to sign your name in this book, you will be a respected member of the Arrows. West chose his Gakusei well."
He picks up the pen and lays it next to the book on the table in front of you. The assistant behind him begins working up a spell.

"But as I said Talon, this test wasn't just for us, it was for you, to show YOU your honor, and focus. Hopefully it put into perspective what you will need to tell your Sensei when you step through the portal being conjured up for you to return home."
He hands you the pen and smiles as the portal opens up next to you.
"If I didn't think West would hand me my ass on a platter, I still wouldn't mind those dance lessons"

Ankh blushes deeply as she takes the pen and signs her name in the book. Handing him back the pen, she shakes her head with a sigh.
"Sorry Drew. As hot as you are, and as much as I would love to finish our "date", your little test made me realize something else. I don't think I am quite ready to share it, but I can say that I don't think I will be doing any dating or looking for some time to come."
She thinks for a moment, and gives him a smile. "Although, you are an excellent dancer."

He leaves the book behind and ushers her through the portal which drops her and Drew in the living room of the Neidan hallow. Drew goes back to Kai's room, and from Kai's room emerges Kai holding an Onyx box.
"That is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, and I don't care what Undrichmann says, I won't do it again." You can see he's not happy about the tears swelling in his eyes.
He gets down on both knees and hands Ankh the box. "This is all I have to offer you. Your presence honors me".
He opens the box. Inside you see what has to be a several hundred year old copy of a book titled "孫子兵法", and a hand carved onyx Ankh.

Ankh stares at Kai in astonishment. Her first reaction is to tell him she can't take something like this from him, but then she realizes that would be insulting.
Instead, she gingerly takes the box from him and examines the contents. "These are lovely Kai! Thank you so much!" She drops down onto her knees to get on his level and gives him a huge hug. Pulling back with a smile, she quirks an eyebrow.
"I only have one question. What is the title in English?" She asks, pointing to the book.
