Aurelie stumbles to the bed that her Sire has given her, this new place totally bewildering.
She stares at the lightbulbs, so modern, the sheets smooth and soft not hand made, and thinks back to the evening.
Electric streetlights? These little plastic boxes you can hold to your ear to talk to people across the world! And the automobiles! Good grief! She had spent the entire car ride clinging for dear life to the door handle, the driver 'careening' at speeds faster than any horse and carriage would have gone. She shudders at the thought of returning to such a device for regular travel. And this...Sacramento... such a strange name, she had remembered some of her country men journying here during the late gold rush of the 1890's, a place of horrible and terrifying wilderness....And yet, there were no marauding bears as had been advertised, in fact, it looked like a modern city, like the pictures she had seen of New York before she was staked. Everything was so strange, the clothes, made of synthetics, that could cling to her lithe and gorgeous form like a glove, tighter than a Moulin Rouge whore's corset.
She does however consider the benefits, she looks magnifique in those new clothes, to die for really, the car *did* offer thrills beyond her wildest imaginings, these lights were so convenient! Her bed, soft and warm, hot or cold air available from the fascinating little vents in the walls. The makeup, so modern, and so many soaps to get it off!
She cuddles into her downy soft mattress, overall rather pleased, her lingering depression a bit lighter for the moment with all these new amenities to fascinate and amuse her.
