Ankh did not bother to wait for West and Kai to leave the house this time. She went to her room, got herself dressed and looking smokin' and headed for the door.
She wanted to see the new club The Rage that had opened in town. After the Banisher hunt, her adrenaline was coursing through her like hot fire. She wanted a drink, a dance, and maybe even some poor schlep to sleep with. Either way she was looking to have a good time, with or without Kai and West.
"Night boys, I'll see you in the morning." She called as she walked out the door.
When she got to the club, she got in line, barely able to contain her excitement. She could hear the music pulsing from outside, and the beat seemed to vibrate her very being. She could not wait to get on that dance floor.

As she enters, she sees a very eclectic crowd of people dancing to the song of the week. Though not as dressy as Avalon, the club still has a fashionable mix of people, though decidedly more tatooed and a slightly 'grungier' feel than Avalon. Still, there is no less the smell of predation in the air as drunk women are looking for their next boyfriend of the week, and drunken men are looking for their one night stand.
One man in particular seems to draw her eye immediately as he walks in the door shortly after he walks in the door. He heads up to the bar and orders a drink

Ankh makes her way to the bar and slides onto a stool next to the guy. She smiles at him before turning to the bartender and asking for a drink.
While she waits, she gives the guy a nod. "How are you this evening?"

The guy turns and his face quickly goes from stressed and tired to a gentle smile.
"Much better now, thanks. What are you having? I'll get this one for you." He slides a 20 to the bartender to pay for his drink and motions the bartender to cover Ankh's as well. "Drew" he puts his hand out for a handshake. "And you are?"

"you keep believing that" he says with a smile "if it makes you happy. I'm kinda new to Sacramento. Is this your first time here to this club?" He drinks his first drink in almost one large gulp and looks at the glass, then motions to the bartender "I'll have a Seven and Seven this time please."

You can tell he's nervous, though he's hiding it really well. Coming from Minnesota and all, he's probably not used to all the people.
"And it's good to hear the people are nice here. Coming from a small town, Moorhead to be exact..."he pauses to wait for the laughter "I'm certainly not used to the indifference of the big city, but somehow I'm still drawn to it."

She downs her drink then turns around and faces the dance floor. With a nod of her head in it's direction, she smiles. "Do you dance?"

He looks at her and smiles.
"Thought you'd never ask. Some parts of living in a big city didn't escape me. I'd love to." His bow indicates a more formal style of dancing as you move to the dance floor, but he seems to incorporate it really well into the electronica Dj music playing.

Ankh blushes as he brings her in close but she tries to follow his direction. Asking her about the dance lessons makes her think of West and she hesitates for a moment. Should she really be doing this? What would he think of her if he found out?
How the hell is he going to find out unless you tell him, moron? She thinks angrily. Screw it, if he wanted me as bad as this guy maybe he would try harder.
With that thought in mind, she throws herself into the "lesson" and gives him her all.
"I have considered it." She says in answer to his question. "But finding the time is the hard part."

He takes her hand and leads her to the bar.

Ankh laughs as Drew leads her back to the bar.
"Okay, okay, you win. I'll have a cranberry and vodka. And I'll even let you pay, although I will buy the next one." She says with conviction.
While she waits for her drink, she takes a look around to see if there is anyone she knows here. She doesn't expect to see anyone, as this is a new place, but she needs something to do besides stare dumbly at the gorgeous guy next to her.
Getting the sudden impulse to do something rash, she leans over toward him and smiles. "Thanks for the drink." And she kisses him.
At first, it was only meant to be a small peck, but she was so hungry for affection and human touch, that she let herself go. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she allows herself to get lost in the feel of his lips.
