Ankh came home and went to her room. She had things to do.
She lit a few candles for effect and then sat on the floor and let her mind wander for a short time.
Her thoughts moved from the encounter with the spirit, to Kai's strange behavior, to her strage friendship with West. At that point, she cut the train of thought and decided to get down to business.
She concentrated on her breathing and began to settle her mind into a state of calm. Like the still waters of a lake.
Concentrating on her knowledge of spirits and the realm they existed in, Ankh began to run through everything she knew about them. She reached out and tapped into that place that allowed her to discern knwoledge from her subconscious mind. She began to learn, sifting through the knowledge she already had and concentrating on the concepts her mind began to form.
She dug futher, as far as she could go, into that place and tried to understand more of the way she connected to the spirit realm.
Hours passed as Ankh lost herself to the meditation. Her muscles began to cramp and her mind grew heavy and thick with the constant concentration and effort.
Finally, after she could not grasp anything more or focus on her task, Ankh allowed her mind to come back to the present slowly. When she finally opened her eyes, the candles had burned low and she wondered how long she had been sitting there for.
She stood, stretched and got undressed. She climbed into bed hoping that she had at least achieved something this night.
It did not take her long before sleep took her.
