PostForum: Beyond the Hedge (Lost (IC)   Posted: Fri Mar 06, 2009 4:11 pm   Subject: a visit to market (ATTN:Four Seasons Hotel group)
Mary watches with one eye as everyone leaves. She politely listens to the goblin finish his sales pitch over the trinket she was staring at, and nods, "I don't think so, sorry." And she quickly ran through the portal before it closed.

She frowned as she looked at everyone gathered around something in the alley way, "Sorry--That goblin was selling this really interesting little doll he said it was supposed to..." and then she saw the body, flopped on the ground, slowly disintegrating into base parts.

She let out a small yip of a scream before she clapped her hand over her mouth.

Her wide eyes were locked on her own dead body, bleeding out in the ally way. She shook her head. This isn't possible! But she knew very well anything was possible at this point. Maybe I'm a ghost! They never do seem to know it...

She looked around at the group and slowly reached out and touched Nightfall's shoulder. She sighed, eyes wavering closed for a moment.

Her hand hadn't gone through.

With that checked off the list she was gazing down at herself again, she knelt down and delicately brushed some of that long brown hair from her...own? face. "I think---this is my fetch. I don't know how she found me but," a clump of the hair came away and turned into a patch of soggy moss. Mary grimaced and flung it to the side, "Someone wanted her dead. Even more than she for me."

Mary simply sifts through some of the other wares on display at the nearby stalls as the rest of the group drives onward with their mission.

Diana simply sighs and calls up to the man on the ladder, "Excuse me, might I get into my office for just one minute?"

Diana threw off her glasses and set her signature down one last time before she folded up her patient's records. She pushed back her chair with her ridiculously defined calves. She slipped the papers back into their rightful spot, gathered up the rest of her things and slipped them into a simple, and a few seasons out of date, leather hand bag. She made sure to lock everything up, smiled to the secretary, and made her way to the parking lot to get herself away from that particular loony bin.

Ruthgru watches a few acts and actually manages to laugh at a few of them. Overall though she found the place sort of depressing. She soon collected her things and stomped her way back home, smiling and happily wobbly.

Mary looked back to the now very tall Lisaundra. She nodded and called out to her, "Yes--Yes of course," she joins up with the small newly formed group. She looks down at the ground and as she looks for particular clues to their where-abouts, she thinks of really anything to say while they search, "So, Ms.--Frost? Right? You're the Onyx Advisor? How long have you been in the Sacramento freehold then?"

Mary sighs as it was clear she was the......seventh wheel on this strange contraption of an event. She goes up to a stall and begins to examine its wares which consist of caged, screeching hobgoblins of all types.

I think, and I hope not stepping on toes, a moderator/admin co-pilot team system for the Changeling threads would be cool. I mean all the other venues have them! Don't you love us?!? Hah, but it's also that I feel bad just pestering poor CA all the time with every little question that pops into my head, it seems like a lot for just one gal to have to put up with!

As for the courts specifically, I really don't know. I mean beyond just handing out the positions like candy (Which I agree takes the fun out of them) it'll be hard to start filling the positions without knowing the court landscape. So, maybe just a few court functions could at least help? Ya know, every few weeks a different big shot changeling throws a little bash and everyone gets together to bump elbows?

Yeah I think that's one of my big issues too, the court business. I know there was this whole talk about getting the players to fill in court positions to add that life themselves...but that they would need to be worked for. And that's understandable...but cause I have no idea what the court looks like, how they interact, who to talk to, who to butt heads with--It is really daunting to want to start up.

That and if the option is: Work really hard against a lot of ephemeral NPC characters to get a position that won't be interacting with anyone other than said NPC's...or play around with the other totally cool PC's running around. I'm taking the red pill.

As for the current main thread, the market thread, I like it a lot but I will admit I'm having some trouble with its overall consistency. It feels like action happens, people do things, interact, get on their own groove and then we have to backspace, backspace, backspace, forget about a lot of what happened and take it somewhere else. Which is making it feel more scripted and less organic/interactive.

Hah that's all the critique though! I'm having a lot of fun, and I love where it's all going and I think everyone is doing a really impressive job with their characters. So, really other than those things, I think it's all tons o' fun and I am just getting myself situated anyway so I'm sure the inter-connectedness of it all will fall into place sooner or later. GOoooOOOO Changelings! Very Happy

Exactly! And I apologize if anyone is a psychiatrist, but Diana is modeled after one that my friend once had for about two weeks before seeking out someone else. The words he used were, "Really, I'm here to mold your future in a way." That was sort of the end of her time with him...

PostForum: Through Human Eyes (Mortal IC)   Posted: Tue Feb 24, 2009 4:43 pm   Subject: Feathers Successfully Ruffled ((Attn: Miss Ramirez))
Diana's back arches and she stands up, she slams her fist down on her desk which causes all of the papers, pencils, pens, to shift slightly out of order. "I am not done!" She bellows, hands shaking as her nails press into her desk, "You sit yourself down young lady and you listen for once in your impertinent life. You will not refer to my patients as 'nutjobs' and as mere things for you to move, and remove as you see fit. That is not your place and not your job. I was asked to work here, for my credentials and abilities. And you were hired as all the doctors' assistant, not our better. And from here on in you will not act on any of my patients without my permission. I will have you and your work reviewed by the board within the week. I don't care how long you've stayed at this hospital, because if this is indicative of this hospital's performance, than a reform is needed. How dare you speak to me like this. You may have bullied your way into place, Miss, thus far but you will find that that tactic will no longer be useful to you. So you had better shape up or I will find you working in the lowest pits of this hospital and any in the state of California before you can even let another disrespectful word fall out of your mouth."

Diana sighs and leans forward, "Alright, Ms. Ramirez. What makes you think, in your position and status in this hospital, that you can speak to me with such disrespect and disregard? Let alone usurp my authority when it comes to how I choose to deal with my patients? Unless you can give me a particularly good answer, or a particularly convincing apology for your rude tone of conduct, I'm afraid that I will have to make it my business to make your future here at this hospital, or at the very least any ward to which I am also assigned, a very tenuous one. Your job here is to make my job of caring for these patients easier, not to act as a spoiled, petulant barrier to my ends." Her words sharply articulate and her eyes never, even for a second, losing focus with Ms. Ramirez's.

Diana spun around, still pacing after all that time, and she gestured to the seat in front of her desk, "Please, Ms. Ramirez, have a seat so we can discuss this incident." She herself made her way to the other side of her desk and sat in the chair, crossing her legs and folding her arms.

Mary watches the exchange, mostly Lisaundra, with squinted eyes and finally takes a deep breath. "That'll do," she said, looking down, and the earth around her fell into a small pile of rubble at her feet. She stepped out of the circle but could feel the earth ready to hug itself to her at a moment's notice.

She shook some of the grit from her hair and stepped up to the small group, "We still need to find that fellow and the monkey that ran off." She looked to Lisaundra and raises an eyebrow, "Miss...perhaps you'd like to go with Sybil to discuss with this Prince fellow your own--predicament?"

That's when she swallowed her pride, "I'm sorry for our misunderstanding before, but I'll help Arch however possible to get your companion returned safely. You and Sybil should probably get a hold on what you've both experience---Away from the Market."

Diana came storming back into her office after dealing with Mr. Stark, her fist clenched around the pen in her hand. She spun her phone around on the desk and stabbed the call button. When her secretary picked up she snapped quickly, "Have Miss Ramirez, my ward's head nurse, sent into my office immediately."

"But--But Dr. Beufont she...uhm she is on duty."

Diana's eyes widened and she leaned closer to the phone. Her voice had lost all its harsh volume. Now she was just....enunciating, "I don't care if she has her arm elbow deep in a patient's chest cavity. Get a replacement and get her in my office, five minutes ago." With that she hangs up.

She is now pacing around her office, twirling the pen around her fingers fairly gracefully, her lower jaw shifting in and out of place, her breath coming in and out in paced increments.

Diana sighs as Mr. Stark lapses back into a fit and simply repeats his statement over the monster biting him, and why won't they help him, over and over and over. She nods to the orderly to give him the shot.

Soon he's no longer screaming, just talking, then mumbling, then silent--staring out the window with wide eyes. Diana pats his hand before telling the orderlies, "If he starts up again, at least record what he says before you put him under." And she walks back to her office, ready to have a chat with that head nurse.

Ruthgru had just seen the ad for the comedy club recently in the newspaper and immediately set herself to see what it was all about. She dolled herself up for the night out. She got herself into a well-fitted blue dress that showed off only her most flattering curves.

When she got up to the door, paid, and they checked her I.D.---the bouncer went to put the wrist band on her and frowned as it didn't seem to fit around her powerful forearm.

"I'm sorry ma'm this is...uhm---We..recently bought new bands and they must uhh--have been mixed up with children's sizes I uhm...."

Ruthgru laughed at the man's squirming for politeness, she was in a good mood and knew how big she was, "Oh no honey-cake, I know it's because they don't make them for real women. I get it all the time. I'll just keep my I.D. handy for the drinks I'll be buying you later." She finished it with a wink and a hefty chuckle before she left the flushed man to his job.

She found a seat and showed her I.D. to the waitress as she ordered a long-island iced tea, she was determined to make this a great night.
