PostForum: Beyond the Hedge (Lost (IC)   Posted: Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:40 am   Subject: Ireland's Got Nothing On Me
Benedict enters with them, yes, but he holds himself aloof, sipping his beer, letting his face get lost in the crowd. But now he speaks. "I am pretty good in the Hedge," he says slowly. "It's sort of a second home....I've heard of people messing around with goblin fruits, too, though I've never dabbled in much, myself."

I thought the bus stop was empty too.

....Good thing Benedict isn't too talkative. Confused

From just a casual glance over, and without pondering the mechanics in-depth, I like the Moon contract a lot. It's very thematic, the clauses are interesting and probably not overpowered. They're useful, but they take cunning to use, and they're better employed indirectly.

The Sun contract...not so much. It did strike me as too vanilla. Workmanlike, and unfortunately flavorless.

Except for the level 5 clause. That rocked.

PostForum: Beyond the Hedge (Lost (IC)   Posted: Sun Mar 08, 2009 4:03 pm   Subject: Ramblin' Rose (Out and about, wander by if you like)
Benedict frowned. "What was that, miss?" he asks Distillery Rose. Then he turned his head and took in the misshappen purple man making his way towards him. And.....another....one....

Alarm bells began going off in his head. Demme demme demme, trap trap trap, get out get out get out now -

He took stock: pocket knife, worthless in a fight. Reasonable glamour. His best bet was running away and hiding, preferably in the Hedge.

Benedict noticably tensed, watching the two oncoming changelings with one eye and keeping his peripheral vision in Distillery Rose.

Benedict cracked his jaw, folding his arms against the cold and turning to regard Distillery Rose. "You headed anywhere special, ma'am?"

You folks still interested in this?

How about a Courtless Baron of the Lesser Ones who is just beginning to explore the Freehold?

Benedict shook his head, looking down at his feet. "Occupation?" he said. "I'm job-hunting, actually." He raised his eyes for a moment, waving to Roselynn, and resumed contemplating ground and boots.

The strangeling blinked. "That's, ah...very friendly of you, ma'am. Ma'ams. Name's Benedict." He nodded to each of them. "Haven't been to the Freehold in a long while," he observed. "Could be good to stop by."

PostForum: Beyond the Hedge (Lost (IC)   Posted: Fri Mar 06, 2009 1:10 am   Subject: Ramblin' Rose (Out and about, wander by if you like)
A slender young man crept to the bench and set down at the edge. His clothing was entirely unremarkable; a blue long-sleeved cotton shirt, dusky blue jeans lightened by continued wear, a patch on the knee, brown boots, and a featureless gray baseball cap. His face was much more interesting; bright green eyes sunken in a pale, pinched, wrinkled catacomb, and tight white lips perpetually set in a halfhearted snarl.

He didn't look at the other two at first, but perhaps he saw something not quite right in the corner of his eye, because he suddenly jerked his head around, staring at them with mild alarm before subsiding, half-closing his tired eyes and turning his face back to the road, like a weathered stone so old it forgets its age and thinks itself young again.

PostForum: Lost Character Descriptions   Posted: Fri Mar 06, 2009 12:13 am   Subject: Edward Benedict
In mortal mask, Edward could be any twenty-something college student, lank auburn hair falling over his brilliant green eyes, lips tightened to a lighter shade than the rest of his weathered face. He's usually clean-shaven and favors button down shirts and slacks. In the Hedge he often dons slightly plainer or more anachronistic clothes, but he is paranoid about "fitting in" when venturing among mortals.

In fae mien the young college student face weathers, crows-feet tracking along the corners of the eyes, cheeks lining with creases that morph into a mazelike mosaic when he laughs, though he rarely does anymore. His skin acquires a sickly gray tinge to match his lips, and sourceless shadows appear over his form, shadows of leaves and trees and thorns. But his stiff neck and light feet betray a certain vitality lacking in most archetypal cantankerous old men.

Wizened Soldier/Woodwalker, Courtless
