Venessa frowned. "Mr. MicHale is a highly recognized consultant that the Sacramento PD has used for years. Especially in weird cases like this. I thought maybe he could shed some light on the unanswered questions we have here. Why? Do either of you have problems with those who are touched by the paranormal?"
She asked this last question with an edge to her tone that implied, if they did have an issue with it, she would be personally affronted.

Venessa smiled apologeticly. "Sorry Gus. That was an old habit. I have done a lot of research into psychics and their accuracy and took a lot of shit from it in college and in the academy. It's kind of a reflex really."
She felt bad, but at the same time she was positive Calvin could help them. "Mr. MicHale, why don't you take a seat over there and give us a brief rundown of how you work on a case?"

Gus remained quiet fingering a pencil and giving the new guest a good once over. Gus was hoping to glean some information so he too could look like a physic. He watched his body language, inspected his dress. Fuck this was hard trying to read a wrapped up burnt bacon face.

(( To avoid a long difficult to read post based on Calvin's speech problem from the damaged muscles in his face, I'll summarize. Also in general, is the writing of his speech out as such a problem for people reading? If it is I can make sure to just note the sluring is taking place and write normal for the sake of easing reading. ))
Calvin would take a seat. He will proceed to descripe the basic definition and differences between Precognition, Postcognition, and Psychometry. Saying how it is possible to get feelings from the scene of the victim, including items themselves they may be left on scene. However resonances fade with time. Their older cases may still net cluesm but he can not guarentee the results with those as much as the new murders.
He will also explain Aura Reading and the ability to glimpse at a person's surface thoughts. A useful abilities when dealing with interogations or finding out if a witness may have seen something they arent sharing.

Calvin by straight visual was obviously not comfortable with his current physical appearance. He carried himself with dignity though as he made his way across the room. He knew why he was here and he knew he could help. Even if the other detectives thought otherwise. Even if they thought he looked like a monster movie reject. Assertiveness however was not an air that Calvin had about him. If it wasnt for the apperance of a Halloween like costume he was wearing Gus probably never would have even given the man a second thought if he passed him on the street. If they told him to leave right then and there he would have no questions asked. He seemed intelligent and alert though despite the left eye that had been taken from the fire and the speech problem. He seemed to be absorbing everything around him. He stayed fixed on the detectives and their questions about his abilities despite any distractions that passed by in the hallway.

Well I know nothing of what you are working on Detective. The general details of the cases would give me a basic understanding to get a feel of what we are looking for. If its possible to check your most recent crime scene or any items that may have been left on the scene I may be able to get a reading to find something you all have been unable to come across yet.

Venessa sighs, she reaches over and pulls out a file that is getting to be rather large. "It's pretty simple actually. You know the murders of those women that keep popping up in the news? That's what we're working on."
She pulls out a few things in the file and handed them to him. "Very simple really, we are attempting to find out what these girls have in common. We have actually gotten pretty far with that. The problem is we can't seem to get past what we have already found. So," She pulls out the ring found at the first crine scene (and yes she has gloves on), hands Calvin a pair of gloves and hands it to him after he puts them on, "Tell me what you can get from this please?"

Calvin jerked for a moment as the visions filled his mind. For those around him he seemed to space out for a time. His other eye glazing over...
Shes at..a bar...I cant see the name....A man... Asian...attractive black hair ....brown eyes... he doesnt have an accent...most likely american ....going outside a car didnt see the make or a tag.... he's talking...the world feels sluggish....darkness.
Cold....bright light....Confussion...Where are we? shes naked...cant see anything else but the light...like something is holding her down.
Oh god a scalpel....the hand... a bracelet dangling...a ring on the pinky...its gold...a sapphire set ...its a man's ring..
He's cutting her... oh my....the pain... the blood... its everywhere. .....Shes gone...
Calvin pulled the hand back breathing heavy and strained for a moment.

We have:
an Asian-American male of unknown height build with no accent but wearing a gold and shapire ring.
a car no color no make no tags, but it had four wheels right?
a bar, no name no music type, no decor
a location, I will leave that one as it stands.
Mr. MicHale I am certain that you run into skepticism in your line of work, See how that works, I could of said I read your mind on that. I have listened to you, with an open mind. Wait I am reading everyone's mind I know I did not appear to be opened minded. But I promise I was."
Gus pause obviously not accustomed to delivering such a tirade.
"Bias aside, and yes I am bias what you have delivered here are two things. The non-accented Asian-American and a ring he wore. The rest was information we already have. Sacramento has 188,000ish Asians, about forty nine percent of those are male. With Sacramento's 1.4 million that gives you almost a 7% chance that the killer would be Asian. Sighting a bar and a car are almost cliché, and a minor point of jewelry is the only risk you took there."
Gus is red faced and flustered. "N..now if there is something you ca..might provide us do so now sir. I will not be insulted be your cold reading any longer."
Gus seems to have poured his heart into this rant along with his earnest feelings. Such an outburst from the reserved LT. is very uncharacteristic.

Well with one of your police artist .... I could perhaps give you a more detailed visual of your possible killer. I'm going to describe what I can as I get my visions. As for the bar Detective if you have checked into your victims regular daily routines..which I would imagine should be standard police procedure.. there may be a bar that she frequented. That would allow me to confirm if that was the bar in question, and perhaps allow you to see if they have witnesses or even security cameras. I am simply reading the object, at the scene of the body or the bar itself I could perhaps get more. However if my services are not required or desired I will take me leave.
He sliped his glove back on his hand and stood back up from the chair to leave.

Venessa sighed, she was about done with the dick waving. She understood that Gus was skepyical, she was as well, sort of, but she had been working as a cop long enough to know there are things out there that one just cannot explain.
"All right, are we all done now?" She asked the two men. "Gus, Calvin coming here was a favor for the department. Why don't we see what else he can come up with before we decide to tell him he's a fake and send him home, huh?"
She turned to Calvin. "I apologise Mr. MicHale. Obviously some of us are a lot harder to prove ourselves to then others. However, I am very interested in what you have to say and what you can do. Now, would you like to speak to that sketch artist? Or are you feeling up to reading another object?"

He shuffled some papers and waited to see what else unfolded.

Calvin looked back to Venessa.
I believe a sketch artist would be good to speak with first... while the images are fresh in my mind. After that ...assuming there is still interest in my abilities I would like to check any other objects you may have to confirm if I can see any other visions. That gives you the option also to be running the image also while I am attempting another reading. Your killer may have a prior record or be someone close to the victims.

Gus prints himself a copy of the latest victim and googles the closest 4 bars to the crime scene.
"Let me know what else you need detectives." he says as he heads out.
Gus was on his way to bar one, not expecting to get anything out of this trip besides away from the scam artist and a health buzz.

She shakes her head and walks out of the office in search of the sletch artist. Gus's attitude was going to get real old real fast. And he was exactly why Venessa had never let anyone in the department know what she could do with her own abilities. She refused to put up with that kind of ignorant crap. Too bad Calvin had to bare it.
