 Deadly Miniature Golf (ATTN: Joe and Gus)

~~NARRATION~~
As the three detectives reach the crime scene, the first thing they notice is the body's condition. This would appear to be another autopsy killer scene.
The woman is nakid with light brown hair and blue eyes. She looks as though she might have weighed about 120 lbs. Her face, arms, neck, and legs have all been sliced to the bone and the skin peeled back to reveal the muscles and tendons underneath. Her chest has been laid bare, the rib cage has been sawed through, peeled back and has left the heart exposed for all to see.
There is nothing else left immediately around the body. It appears that all the treash and other rubbish has been removed in a thirty foot circle around the woman.

Gus looks the scene over. He doesn't often get to see a fresh crime scene. Oddly enough he feels as insulated from the carnage as he does seeing it in a file at his desk. Gus silently looks the scene over careful not to disturb anything. He then spends a bit absorbing it all and committing it to memory. Through all of this he seemed very aware of everything besides the other detectives.

~~NARRATION~~
Joe and Gus carefully make their way around the crime scene, moving from the body outward. After a few minutes they both see something glittering in the grass.
They both reach down and grab for the shiny object.........
~~Venessa~~
She notes the two boys looking for evidence, so she turns to the blues on the scene.
"Can I speak to whomever dicovered the body please?"
They lead her over to a puffy eyed woman with a group of about 8 kids with her. Groaning inwardly, Venessa pulls out her note pad and starts asking questions.

Gus yields to Joe. "..oh, hey sorry go ahead". He steps back and organizes his thoughts. With the initial detail at hand he begins a formal investigation of the scene; taking photos and logging voice notes into his phone. Gus knows if he puts his all into this he can impress the other homicide detectives.

As Joe inspects the grounds, he does not see a single camer. He does notice a mass of people standing away from the crime scene tape. The are far enough not to disturb the scene but close enough to get a good look.
As Gus starts taking pictures, he notices something on the body reflecting off the flash of the camera. Pulling the camera away from his eyes, he looks down and see something shiny attached to the woman wrist.

Joe points to Henry, one of his more favorite blues (guy could teach you everything you wanted to know about putting handcuffs on a perp while half dead, high as a kite, and the perp covered in grease.) "Henry, go grab that glittery thing over there ( he points to the glittery object on the grass nearby)"
Joe heads over to the people, walking calmly, casually, but with eyes of steel. "Alright people, who saw something of interest before the tape went up? Come on, raise your hands. It could be your sister next time if we don't catch him."

Gus steps over to the body. Being in this proximity to the corpse was awkward for Gus, but he was not going to stumble. He inspected the body and the object that caught his attention.

A small woman, mid thirties, steps forward and looks at Joe with challenge in her eyes. "Yes, I saw something before the police got here."
She motions to the crime scene tape, silently asking if she may duck under it and speak with him.

As Gus bends down to inspect the object, he realizes it is a gold bracelet that is still clasped around the victums wrist. He also realizes there is not one drop of blood left in this body.

She shrugged, making a pointed attempt to look in the opposite direction of the body. "I saw a guy in a dark jack standing over there."
She points to the spot where Joe and Gus found the shiny object.
"He bent down and pulled something out of his pocket, placed it on the ground, and stood. Then he walked over to the body, bent over next to it and took her hand." She indicated her right wrist as she spoke. "And then he got up and walked away. At first I thought maybe he was checking to see if she was still alive or something, but when he walked away I knew he was the guy who's been doing all these murders."
She stopped for a moment, as if thinking. "He was about 5'8 and he had really dark hair, short too. Not shaved or anything but it was man short, not long or anything. I didn't get a good look at his face, but I could tell he was really pale. Like he didn't get outside very much. He had on a dark blue jacket and black slacks. He looked clean shaven. He was actually dressed rather nice." She shrugged. "For a killer I mean. He was even wearing penny loafers I think, what kind of killer wears penny loafers?"

Joe snaps out of his reverie for a moment [sorry LF, lost a character]. "Uhh ma'am, are you sure it was penny loafers, and not tennis shoes?" at her dumb nod Joe sighs and tries to figure it all out. "Alright ma'am thats good. Now, whenever you get a chance in the next day or two, I'd like you to make a statement at the police station and tell them exactly what you told me. If you want, officer Richardson here can take you down to the station right now. In the meantime I've got more work to do." Joe goes to Henry "Alright, lets see what it is" he also calls out to the CSI guys "Hey, make sure you get a good print of a penny loafer, male, probably size 10)" "Sorry Henry, alright what did you find?"

Henry proudly holds up a bag containing an earing.
"Might belong to the vic, might not." He says with a shrug.
The witness goes off with Officer Richardson to make her statement at the station.
Gus further examines the shiny object on the victums wrist and sees that it looks like a name plate bracelet. Carved on the small flat surface of the gold is the name 'Gabriel'.

"I don't have any blood.. well err she doesn't. I mean none, people don't bleed out this way... oh and a name on the bracelet. So we have a few things here. I can't wait to see what CSI yields." Gus's head was swimming. He need time with the old file to compare the similarities. But all this stunk of a well educated older killer that is excited by the ritual rather than just the killing.

She came over here to find out what it was and ended up losing her breakfast. None of the kids seem to have seen anything tramatizing since the teacher kept them away from the scene as much as she could."
She shrugs. "That's about it really. What have you got?"

Gus heads over to Venessa and John. He pauses and starts awkwardly "Hey thanks for letting tag along on this one. I don't want to get in the way." looking down "I want to compare this scene to the older case and the other new one. Is there anything else I can do to help here before I head back to the department?"

She looks at Gus and wonders, not for the first time, what is wrong with the man. He had a brillient mind, but he seemed so subdued and shy.
She shrugs. "I think that would be a great idea, but you might want to wait until we're done here. Unless you plan on getting a ride from an officer or walking."
She leans over and whispers in his ear. "And you're not getting in the way. We asked you to come and help. So, relax."
She leans back and looks at her notes again. "Well, unless Detective O'Connel has anything else, I'd say the rest is up to the CSI's."

Joe talks about what the witness saw, and the rough sketch of the man, and the penny loafers.
"Its the loafers. It bugs me. I want to know every party that was going on that night that one would logically wear what he wore. It'll be one hell of a suspect list, but it'll give us a place to start. ALways before its been tennish shoes, but why change? You change if you are in a rush, you change if you are bored, and you change if you are scared. Since i doubt the later, that leaves the first two. I hope its not the second. Therefore, I want to investigate the first. Hopefully the lady can give us a time of when she saw the man. and that can narrow down the suspect list. Of course, my hands are full of straws at the moment." *joe Sighs*

Gus gives a slight smile and acknowledging nod to Venessa. He listens to Joe hypothesize about the shoes. "Right Joe, I think the killer is highly educated. If he is half as meticulous about his dress as he is about the ritual he preforms, then he probably stands out a bit. Ritualists often manifest quirky behaviors sometimes they are even OCD."
Gus looks back over at the body, wonder how this puzzle would come together.

Venessa sighs. She wished this CSI stuff didn't take so long, but there really wasn't much they could here. So, she tugged at Gus's arm and nodded toward the car.
"We should probably go as well. Not much left to do here and we have all those files to go through down in your office."
Turning, she follows Joe to the car.
