Bella frowned at Asa. "What are you contacting O-Yama for? Is he a suspect or something? And if you are wishing to talk to him because of the bald monster I saw, then we may as well get hold of Tombs and any other bald, or near to bald, kindred in this city. Remember, we are going on one dead man's blurry ass vision here. So, I could be entirely wrong and we may end up accusing the wrong kindred."
She was not happy. These people seemed more interested in laying the blame and moving on to the next problem without taking the time to assess exactly what concrete information they did have. And she did not want to be the one pointed to when they were asked where they came across their information, because then she would go down in flames with them.

Nicolo looked untroubled. "Forgive me, Signora, I was under the mistaken impression that you would wish to track down each Kindred in the city with no hair, or similar description, and speak with each of them individually, since that is the best lead there seems to be. Isn't that how the kine law enforcement works?" He shrugged his shoulders. "It makes no matter to me. Please – however you'd like to proceed, just lead the way."

Asa looked at Bella in surprise. "We're not accusing anyone. I was just going to ask him if he knows anything. I thought that doing it one at a time rather than pulling a line-up would help keep it a friendly chat rather than an interrogation. What did you have in mind?"
He was new at this, and Nicolo had called Bella an Inquisitor. At least, that's what it had sounded like.

Bella looked from one to the other. "Talk to them one by one? Do you have any idea how long that might take? I mean, I am not trying to say it isn't a viable idea, I was just under the impression that the Prince wanted this done like yesterday. Was I wrong?"

"Actually, that's a very good question. How many Kindred "do" live in this city? And of those, How many might be bald or close to it? So far we've only come up with two names." Nicolo thought for a minute. "I suppose you could ask your Seneschal for a census or something? Someone must keep this type of information for these types of circumstances?"
"I had another thought, though I don't suppose it's nearly as good as questioning those that fit the description of your vision. But if you could find those that keep a haven in this building, or very near here, you might also come up with a short list of people to talk with."
Then, Nicolo's wicked smile came back. "Other than that, Bella, I must defer to you. As an Inquisitor in my Homeland, I must say, I am more comfortable aggressively 'questioning' my suspects than hunting them down. Criminals were always brought to me – I never had to seek them out."

Asa looked thoughtful, then said, "OK, let's do this. We'll go with Nicolo's plan and use bald Kindred as the bait. That'll solve everything."
He smiled, and continued. "Seriously, though, I thought we'd start with these two. I'm ruling Karsh out, and both of these guys are new to the city. It should be fairly quick, and if they don't pan out, we can re-evaluate. That was just my line of thought on the matter -- but I'm open to suggestions. I've never hunted down a criminal either."
He looked at Nicolo. "That's a good idea also. If both of you think searching the apartment building more might help, we can do that. Maybe we can spot an apartment with heavy drapes that was recently rented... but I'm not sure if everyone in the city has a 'known' haven that's in a Rolodex somewhere. Bella?"

Bella shook her head. "First rule of thumb, unless your fucking them, or you plan on killing them, you don't let them know where your haven is. So, that one is out because I doubt even Karsh knows where everyone's haven is. I say we try Asa's idea first and question those who fit the description. So, O-Yama and Tombs, you say? Fine by me. You have their numbers, I assume?"

Listening, Asa tried not to smile. Mekhet were just so... blunt sometimes. Even that fellow Ash.
Asa pulled out his phone again. "I do, we all exchanged information during our little bonfire bonding getaway. O-Yama first?"
After witnessing a few of O-Yama's acts of impulsive carelessness, Asa thought him a much likelier suspect than Tombs, the Gangrel that had shown restraint and prudence.

Bella nodded. "Contact them both and have them meet us at the Grindhouse. If neither one of them pan out, then we can go to Karsh for any other bald kindred he may be aware of. He is the one to keep track of such things, after all..........sort of."
She gave them a small smile, thinking it did not quite cover the area of Harpy knowledge to know who had hair and who did not, but he might know someone with a memory that good.
