Jessica locked the door to the sanctum. She'd dropped off several boxes of books from Stone's library. It wasnt all of it but it should be enough to get him started on his investigations.
The bed sheets were unmade and the place had an unfamiliar perfume. Stone had probably had a woman over. No there were women's shoes under the bed, he HAD a woman over. It was expected. They weren't dating. Why should she care. She should be use to it. She kicked at the bottom of the wall half heartedly in a huff.
Making her way down to the car she looked at the time. He was probably still in whatever morning meeting they had set up for him. He'd call her when he was out.
She needed to calm down. She decided to walk around the block and get a lay of the area around the sanctum.

For once Taylor was not doing a great deal of running, He hadn't really found any other place to find his own kind and if they were all as angry as the last guy well,he was better off.
It was a nice morning and he was strolling around a decent neighborhood when he comes across a rather upset looking woman.
"Good morning, it is a crying shame for someone as pretty as you to be upset this early in the morning."

She sniffed, wiping her face.
She hadnt been paying attention. She hadnt even heard the man come up on her.
She shook her head.
Just being stupid over things I cant change. Stuff I already know but just dont like the reality of. Guess I was just hoping for a different result today....
She started to move away and continue on

Trust me Being surprised by what people are capable of or will do is something I'm very custom to ...
She wasnt sure what do make of the man. He seemed harmless at the moment. Men were not high on her list right now. Bunch of fucking pigs. She had gone walking to be alone and think. Now it appeared she had a good samaritan on her tail.

working for a novelist. Its certainly not the life I would have imagined I'd have if you asked me where I'd be five years ago.

Taylor was a little taken a back.
"You work for a novelist, that should be a pretty decent job depending on the writer. Unless you have to hound him for pages and have to bleed the work out of him. You don't look like a big scary editor though."
Taylor had a certain playfulness in his voice now.

She held back a laugh.
Bleeding him would probably be easier at times... He's either buried over his head in writing or got his head buried so deep in something else its a miracle anything gets on paper.
She shook her head.
Its a decent paying job....Just got his third book released the other day. That took about three months longer than it should have but we finally got it done.

It would be the latter...His head lodged firmly up an orifice. I should be use to it though its not like its a new routine. I think thats what gets me the most.

She hung her head for a moment before looking back up.
"We've dated before...off and on a couple times. Lasts for a couple months, then its off to get his head lodged into something. Off on some study for his book.
She paused as she picked her words. She didnt know this guy. She'd probably already spilled to much about her own personal troubles, she couldnt go blabbing about arcane topics.
Breaking up is always for MY benefit. Keep me from getting hurt. Keep me from worrying about him while he's off on some investigation.. Yeah sure its so he can find girls in the bars at whatever random city he's in....
He emotions were going back and forth between anger and sadness like a tennis match now.

She was mad, she knew better. She didnt know this guy but he seemed nice enough. Hes a school teacher how scary can he be right? He was easy on the eyes too and he offered breakfast. Her stomach had been growling earlier. The granola bar from the drive up here wasnt alot and it was fading. That son of a bitch had had a girl over in his apartment already. An apartment she had secured for him with the Arrows.
Sure... You know breakfast actually doesnt sound like a half bad idea..
