Charles Black wakes up after a long night before he has just resonantly moved in to Sacramento he roles out of he's bed and thinks to him self what he needs to do tonight:
"introduce my self to the Prince, get some vitae in me, get any idea what the town's kindred is all about"
Black get up and begins to dressed.
