Can a mage be ghouled? It seems awkward but in like the OWoD mages and inquisitors could be ghouled? I am just wondering what the ruling is on hunters and mages being ghouled? If there is cross-faction communication at times I think this could be valid question and well if it has been asked and answered already my apologies. Thanks.

Its Answered in the Template explanation in the WoD book. A Major template cannot be over-written by a Minor one. A Mage, Wolf, Changeling, or a Hunter from Hunter the Vigil will not be effected by a Ghoul attempted. But they still can be Blood addicted. And if The Kindred attempts to embrace them their is a chance they will be turned and loose all the powers of the previous template. But most will kill themselves instead of being transformed from thier previous life.

My understanding is that NWoD forbids anything that involves the use of multiple supernatural templates. As to why, maybe Dog can share the story of Thomas Haight. (I appologize in advance if the spelling is wrong.)

Haight the kinfolk turned ghoul who turned skindancer who used a magic artifact to steal an awakened soul...
so he is a ghoul, awakened, and werewolf all in one. With the staff of the world tree... I played OWoD a lot and I am just trying to get used to NwoD.

WW gave up on wraith the oblivion a long time ago... same with demon the fallen and generally mummy.
The issue is what happened in Chaos factor where you can play as any of the 3 main (WW, Mages, Vamps) and you are trying to hunt him down before he awakens a 4/5th generation Baali called Shaitan.
So in the end there is a paradox explosion from his staff (staff of the world tree which in it self is a walking paradox) so yeah...
I talk too much...

Is that guy from old wod? or nwod? anyway Kinfolk? Wolfbloodied and ghouls are minor templates so those can get exchanged and overwrite the other....Skindancer sounds old world as does Kinfolk so none of that has ANY sway on the new world.

My impression was that Haight was the primary example of why multiple templates needed to be disallowed. And yes, he was from OWoD.

Interesting Question:
It's always been my impression that when one is ghouled, it overwrites the Wolf-Blooded or Psychic template. In fact, in Second Sight, it states that being ghouled pretty much takes away any psychic abilities that you once had.
But you get disciplines so...yeah.
As for Greater Templates (Werewolves, Mages, etc.): They can't be blood-bound or ghouled, but there is still Vitae Addiction that you have to take into account.
