==History==
Jason Donahue was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His father left when he was four years old, after which Jason, an only child, was raised as an only child. Though physically and artistically talented, he got along poorly with others and had significant problems with oppositional behavior and dislike of authority. Before high school, he'd already started drinking and doing drugs, had been in trouble with the law on multiple occasions and had developed an interest in the occult and, eventually, in LaVey's version of Satanism. His mother died when he was
16 years old. Jason subsequently discovered years of letters from his father, full of references to things he didn't understand and explanations why it was safer for Jason and his mother that his father stay away.

Jason sought out his father - a mage - only to end up in the middle of a fight between his father and some of his father's enemies. During this fight, he was injured, which resulted in Orphan Awakening. Newly-Awakened, Jason managed to survive the fight, but his father did not. Jason was subsequently taken in by associates of his father. Jason was provided with magical instruction, and with time he joined both the Adamantine Arrow and the Brotherhood of the Demon Wind, the same Order and Legacy to which his father had belonged.

After spending a year or so wandering around the United States and working briefly with other Arrows in various locations, he found himself in Sacramento, where he has settled down, at least for now.

Orphan maintains a small apartment, which consists mostly of a Hallow and an arsenal of weapons and useful items. He and [[Tam]], a mage of the [[Mysterium]], had a brief relationship and started to set up a Sanctum together, but Orphan abandoned this when Tam suddenly left. Orphan spends a lot of time working out and studying, seeking to overcome his educationald deficits (he eventually obtained his GED) and knowing that one can never have too much knowledge. Orphan's study of magic has been more broad than deep. He has at least some knowledge of 7 of the 10 [[Arcana]] but only middling skill with any of them.

==Description==
Orphan appears a few years older than his actual age of 20, mostly because of an overly serious demeanor. He is 5'11", with red hair and pale, freckled skin. He dresses in a sturdy, utilitarian manner. His signature weapons are the daisho (katana and wakazashi) previously owned by his father.
