Michael looked through his bags for something to wear to an introduction to the Prince. Most were wrinkled despite careful packing but for Michael that was how he like his shirts most of the time. He picked out sky blue shirt and a silk tie with diagonal stripes. Neatly tied and with the top button done, Michael rolled up the sleeves in an irregular way to add his own style. The pants he did wish he could iron but they were a light grey that hid creases well. The dress shoes were the type without laces and a grey brown.
Overall it was more up-tight than his usual attire but it still looked just a little more relaxed than you would think with the clothes he had chosen.
With a splash of some water on his hair so he could comb it with his hand, Michael smiled to himself. He planned on enjoying every minute of this. He knew Mariel's offer to introduce him to the wasn't a selfless act of kindness. She was Sanctified after all. She probably had plans for him; plans for using him. He had decided he'd let her, at least for now. Wait and see what those plans were, go along with them, and possibly tear them down when the time was right. Michael's smile broadened at the thought.
Or he could see if he might be able to "convert" her. Get her to help him and his covenant. Corrupt her faith in the scriptures. That would be an even sweeter victory.
Both held a certain risk but the political advatages would undoubtledly make it worth it if played right.
He remembered the fun they'd had in her hotel room. Even without the potential for political intrigue there were other social things he was sure he'd enjoy and take advantage of from a relationship with Mariel. Things he was sure would justify the risk even more than political gain.
