Matthew picks his way to the Tur's Hisil reflection in the proud Urshul form, knowing his packmates aren't far behind. The time has come for Paladin and Brandon to meet their new totem.
Shadow Tongues sets out to bear witness. Three became five.
One thinks of the past at times like this. So many wolves proved unworthy to be counted on. Would Paladin and Brandon last when so many others could not?
Sally comes walking up behind her brothers, "Hello Firebringer, ShadowTongue" Sally says using her brothers' deed names rather then there herd names. They Stand in the Hisil and she wanted the spirits who may be listening that her Alpha, He Who Brings Fire, and her Beta, He Who Speaks in Shadows, was there and with them came the Shadow Seekers. Sally stood in her Dalu form, wearing her leather corset top and jeans. She was happy, Today is a good day for her family. Paladin and Brandon would soon be tested by the Golden Bear and hopefully be brought into the fold. "Today is a good day Alpha."
Paladin lopes into the park in Urshul and comes to rest standing majestic before the others in his glossy black fur. He bares his neck to Matthew, and nods his head in wolfish recognition of ShadowTongue and Sally. <<Alpha, Brother, Sister.>>
Brandon, in Urshul form, pads into the reflection of the park to join the Seekers. He was unsure of what to expect, this being his first Pack initiation, and he felt a bit anxious to get the whole thing done.
Lowering his head to Matthew he says <<Hello, Alpha>> looking to the others <<Sally, Shadow Tongue, Paladin. Sorry if I'm late. Looks like we're all here>>
Matthew gives each packmate as they arrive, although concern flashes through his mind at Brandon's tardiness. Is he going to turn into another Alex, letting some other obligation take the place of his pack? I'll have to watch him.
Shoving the question aside for now, he walks deeper into the park's reflection in search of Golden Bear.
Looking for Golden Bear is, as it turns out, unnecessary. He's already moving in their direction; his gait slow, unhurried, and deliberate. It's almost as if he knew his pack would be looking for him tonight. In fact, that's entirely possible. No Uratha is quite certain what the Totem Bond is like for the Totem. As he reaches his pack he sits back on his haunches, steady gaze examining Brandon and Paladin before turning back to the established members of his pack.
<<Fire Bringer, Shadow Tongue, Sally; your endurance is strong.>> He doesn't ask why they've come though. Simply waiting, trusting that they'd make their purpose known in good time.
<<As is your own, Golden Bear.>> Matthew gestures with his head, indicating that Paladin and Brandon should step forward. <<I'd like to present Brandon McKinsey and Paladin, new pack members if they meet your approval.>>
Sally smiled and bowed her head to Golden Bear. She loved seeing the pack totem. It always sent chills down her spine seeing and feeling the power of the totem.
Paladin looked upon Golden Bear with a respectful light in his eyes and took a step forward. <<I am Paladin, Rahu of the Mennina.>>
He makes no flowery speech, no appeals, he waits to be judged, or if questions will be asked of him, but tempers himself by remaining silent and still, head bowed as he waits for Golden Bear.
